Morning all, hope you are all keeping well.

As a petite footie chick I hate it when mindless people spoil the beautiful game.

I am referring to the events of the last few days. First there was the guy who hand-cuffed himself to the goalposts in the game between Everton and Man City, followed by the riots in Egypt.

What is wrong with these people. Why can't they go to game and enjoy it whatever the result is. If your team loses get over the disppointment and focus on them winning the next one.

I may be a person with very mild learning disability, but I am a good-natured person who hates violence and arguments.

Have a good day today and enjoy the game tomorrow.

Take care of yourselves and best wishes.

    Regards

    Bernie

The game needs true, innocent supporters like us not those mindless lunatics.

If you are going to the game tomorrow, enjoy it and make some noise for the boys.

In response to the actual thread...

I assume (could be wrong), that the issue in Egypt is more of a political or national problem?

I have not really looked up on the events but it came across as the same issues you use to see in the old Yugoslavia, stick various disagreeing segments of a nation in to the same stadium and problems such as witnessed on our tv screens will occur. Not saying that is what happened, just how it appeared to me without reading up on it.

As for the Everton game, do not follow the Premiership myself (slight dislike of it, putting it mildly). So not sure what point that fan was making (I only saw a very brief snippet of the incident by chance)?

There are a number of things that are wrong with the beautiful game ! Their roots are firmly concerned with money ( as far as I am concerned .) Most participants in football ( and other sports to a degree ) seem to exploit any way to increase the size of their bank balance.
I do not condone the actions of such people as the fan at the Everton match, and I find it very sad when one person has lost their life because of football.
However, because of the greed of so many in the game ( at the expense of the fan ), it is possible to understand the frustration of fans when things don't go right. We are paying for their lifestyle (about which most of us can only dream ) and we demand results. Sometimes these expectations ( at lower league levels ) can be a little unreasonable and we need to be more pragmatic in what our team can achieve. But we live in an increasingly selfish, impatient throwaway world. Failure is not an option and any mistake requires punishment...... How many of us would survive if we were so treated in our walks of life ?
I am not sure if the greed culture in football will be remedied any time soon. This and other matters, such as cheating on the pitch requires a change in the system. It has to start somewhere - the bubble will eventually burst !

Finish in the top 3 or your sacked.
Why work for success when you can buy it.

There are many reasons and you take your pick to match your own believe.
