IF. or should I say when we get promotion, what positions in the team will Bruce want to strengthen. ?Another goalie for a start to support Stockdale, but after that I wouldn't know what he would want to do.
I'd rather we concentrated on getting there first ... However, if we were I think the 3-5-2 could become something of an issue, the top sides would pick us off for fun. Probably be something like: Stockdale Chester - Hobbs - Bruce (not PL standard but reckon he'd keep his place) Elmo - Meyler - New CDM - Quinn - New LWB Gedo - New ST Brady could possibly keep his place but his defensive frailties would be exploited ruthlessly in the Premier League, I'd rather have Dudge.
i'd rather not comment on this stuff. You've just jinxed us probably. It's completely unnecessary , too many variables
Half a team at least. I don't think we would stay up with what we have especially with the strikers (not counting Gedo and Elmo as they aren't ours). Its a shame Proschwitz has turned out to be a failure, it's getting on for March now and he has made hardly any impact. Because of that the only Premiership-likely striker we have is Fryatt.
I think Bruce might go the way of Wayne Brown; great at Championship level but one mistake could destroy him. Or, he could go the way of Ash and become an established PL defender....
I think Bruce would keep (or get): Stockdale + new keeper Rosenior, Dudgeon, Fahti, Elmo, Brady, Hobbs, Bruce, Chester, Faye, new defender Koren, Boyd,Evans, Quinn, Meyler, Cairney + new midfielder Aluko, Proschwitz, Gedo, new striker, new striker I don't think there will be wholesale changes: we can't afford it.
Proschwitz is the interesting one for me, can't see him staying with us next season if we go up, if he can't get near Championship level with us. Could still come good but he's not even getting off the bench now.
Top post. I agree. Looking at who the FATs are this summer it wont cost the club much to bring in quality other than wages. In saying that i would go for Murray - Rhodes and Austin especially if non of them are promoted. But thats for another day.
Fryatts the only one that might cut it in the Premiership like I said in the other post. Was hopeful for Simpson but his long run with no goals makes me think he might not be up to it.
