I know that if your Aunty had bollocks she'd be your Uncle, but what if we hadn't had such an horrendous load of injuries this season? I reckon that we'd have been comfortably top 7, and I'm a glass half-empty merchant!!

probably still be 6th, on the other hand what if a certain judas hadn't left (oh sore point, but a fact unfortunately). guess we were just unlucky but things are looking up now mate

Take your point about Bent, but back to the question - what if Welbeck hadn't been out so long?

guess we'll have to see how well wellbeck does to the end of the season, if he's on form then we can really curse our luck, same could be said what if turner hadn't got injured and the back four remained solid like the first half of the season, thats been our downfall imo

I think that's my point, mate. If - such a small word, but it means so much!

Imagine if we had been in Europe and had picked up the injuries we have this season. The strain on the fit players would have been immense. A bigger and better squad is a must if we want to keep improving.

But wouldn't a place in Europe bring new signings to strengthen the squad?
I'd have thought that most chairmen and managers would agree that the squad that gets you into Europe is not necessarily the squad that you'll need.

For me the issue this season has not been the injuries but the quality of the squad

Injuries can apply to all teams really, but the bigger n stronger the squad the easier its absorbed. Spot on pont. ... If you get a winger a full back n a winer you could be flying next season.
