Bendtner ends up with 12 goals this season and shoots us to the FA Cup final? Not everyone's cup of tea for sure, but imo if seems to be settling here and although not the traditional target man some may wish, he is effective. 3 goals in 4 or 5 games shows a bit of form and I think he is working harder for the team now as well. It takes players time to settle and let's not forget, he has been here under a bit of a turbulent season as well. I think if he is available for sensible money, say £4m or £5m and we can do something on the wages front with him and Arsenal, I'd gamble on him rather than look for a foreign unknown entity. Mon can get the best out of him imo and at 23 hes young, experienced and comfortable in the EPL. Basically, what I am trying to say, is Bendtner is growing on me. Anyone else?
No Cest not doing enough for me played well in the last few games yes got to agree there but, he has been terrible in most of those before hand. As for 4-5 mil for him think Arsenal will want at least 8mil, think we can do better with that sort of money. If he did go for a decent price 4mil tops then he could be worth a gamble but, as you say if he does score 12 and put us into the final or even wins it for us his price will increase.
Happy he has started scoring however Purely think it is because he is trying to put himself in the shop window
But if he enters the 12 plus goals a season and takes us to an FA Cup final is he not worth more anyway? My problem is that I don't see much better, even for the £8m you speak of, anywhere in the UK or abroad. Sometimes the devil you know is better than the one you don't and for me, if has had a far better time since Mon came here and will only get better under him. It has taken him 4 or 5 months to settle down and get into his new club and I think we have still to see the best from him yet. A permanent deal and solid roots will only increase his performance imo and the danger is we could be throwing 12 months settling in away and start the process all over again with a new target, who tbh, would be another huge gamble? His team mates seem to like him and the manager has warmed to him too. I feel that even some of our fans have also warmed to him over recent weeks, of included, and he is a perfect age and of good background. I'd be happy to see Bendtner, Sessegnon, Campbell and Wickham as our strike force next year. For me, we need cover at right back, we need to buy Wayne Bridge, we need central defensive cover when Bramble goes and we need right wing competition. McClean has richardson to rush him but there is no competition for Larsson. Our front 4 offer lots of alternatives imo and work well under the Mon game plan. What we need is deeper cover behind them.
Apparently o'neill is more fond of Hugo Almeida, who im not too keen on either I would have Bendtner for £4mil tops with wages of £30-40k which would rise to £50k if he scored 15 goals Apart from that i think we should raid either villareal as i think a few of their players are away Or as the chances are they will go down, Yakubu (who is apparently only 29...) who has been playing similarly for blackburn and has been prolific with hoilett, could get them on the cheap if they went down
did you see him score yesterday...he went straight towards thf we can get he south west corner i belive he just wants to have teams who will cheer him on and is enjoying playing for us and will be better with out the mask if we can get him for 1-4m i whould be very happy to have him and anymore and i whould have to think about it
Bendtner is a skilful player in my book,he holds the ball up well and brings other players into the game.Everyone harps on about him not scoring enough goals but he was never prolific at Arsenal.I think he contributes quite a bit to the team and would sign him.The only problem I can see is that most of our fans want to see him running around like a headless chicken chasing the ball down, (which is not his game) and because of this they don't like him.
Never been a big fan of him as you know mate but, would still leave him as for the last bits of your post about the defence and cover spot on mate. In my opinion Whickham will either be farmed out next season or played when Bendtner goes back so we are down to 3 up front already. Our problem this season is that the front men aren't scoring enough we need a good 15 goal a season striker as well as the lads we have left. Put together with the goals the rest of the team are getting then it'll be smiles all round again.
He has certainly grown on me and as long as I don't see a load of the performances when he cannot be bothered, i'd be delighted to have him
I would take him. No he isnt the best, yes he sometimes is lazy and he sometimes makes wrong decisions however putting all that aside he has a great 1st touch, does hold the ball up well, brings other players in and recently does seem to be making more of an effort. He may well be trying to put himself in the shop window and if he does want to move surely its a win situation for us. he scores goals it helps us, if he leaves the doubters get their way.
the fact is there defence is stretched with jimmy and sess giving him space to make himself space to pass and shoot and head the ball
Would anyone consider taking Cisse back? If QPR go down, they need people off the wage bill asap In my views: Bendtner - £4 mil max Yakubu - £5 mil max Cisse - £3 mil max Hoilett £12 mil max (not hopeful of him tbh) Kevin Doyle - £5 mil max Steven Fletcher - £8 mil max Some potential signings just from the EPL
17 goals in 45 int. apps. Aged 24.... Maybe could cost half of Wickhams fee... 6 goals in 23 for us so far.. Seems to be getting better... On these facts alone, it,s a yes......how-ever if he starts to faulter that could change.
There aren't many better out there for 4m or less. For that kind of price id take him without hesitation. ..............................Mig................................. Gardner............greek....Mr T...............Bridge ....................vaughan....colback...................... Campbell............sessegnon.............McClean ............................Bendtner............................ Love how we looked here, most top sides are playing 4-2-3-1 these days and it suits us with our strikers situation.
He does seem to be growing in stature, both as an individual and team player. However, he does seem to have an attitude problem, and I'm not so sure that he would show the same level of commitment that he is now if given a long term contract..
If you think Bendtner can be inconsistant, then Yakubu is an even worse option..he blows hot an d cold all the time and trust me mate...hes well in his 30's. His age was much discussed at Everton and was one of the reasons they cashed in
