I'm just bored and wondering what you would do if you raised your kids to support Newcastle (or whatever team you support if you don't support the Toon and are reading this) and they came home and told you they wanted to support Man U or something.

My Uncle, a lifelong Chelsea fan (not a fake one - had a season ticket until the prices rocketed and couldn't afford it after that) raised his two young sons to support Chelsea.
One day I came to visit the family, don't see them often, and they ran downstairs, one in a Man U shirt and the other in an Arsenal shirt! Apparently their mates from school support them so they wanted to change and my Uncle was pressured into it.

    He looked pretty distraught.

What would you/have you done? There'll probably be some people here with family that have changed teams.

My nephew runs away when Bruce is on the screen and waves bye bye. Has a Toon strip and is sat watching the 1-0

If my kids (assuming I have any) did that, I'd go out, buy them a suitcase and a map and tell them to do one.

my dad supports man city and never ever pushed me to support any club, its wierd how you start supporting a club and your with them for life. living in cornwall makes it strange to start supporting newcastle but i would want my son or daughter to support any club they come to start supporting, you cant force love.

If my kid said they wanted to support a different team I'd take them to the ground, one game and ya hooked for life. I used to prefer Tottenham and Liverpool when I was 6 or 7.
