and Cesc and Nasri both leave?

Will our team look like this?

    ----------------Szczesny--------------
    --Sagna--Koscielny--Vermaelen--Gibbs--
    ------------Song----Wilshere-----------
    ---Walcott------Ramsey-----Arshavin---
    ----------------v.Persie----------------

    or like this?

    ----------------Fabianski-----------------
    --Sagna--Djourou--Koscielny--Vermaelen--
    -----------Song----Wilshere--------------
    -Walcott-------------------------Miyaichi-
    -----------v.Persie----Chamakh-----------

    Or a mix of those?

And where would we finish? (realistically, not wummingly)
    Winner? (1)
    Champions league spot? (2-4)
    Europa League? (5, maybe 6 and 7)
    Upper Mid-Table? (8-12)
    Lower Mid-Table? (13-17)
    Relegated? (18-20)

Tell me what you think, and don't just respond by saying that we will sign someone, because I know we will, and this is only theoretical.

  4. I think it's hardly likely that we sign no one. Gervinho is having his medical today and I'm certain Arsene Wenger will know by now the folly of not spending over the past two seasons. He must be aware that even he may not survive another fruitless season.

We have already signed somebody - Carl Jenkinson. But that aside I really can't see us not adding to the squad this time around. In the past Wenger has said 'we may add one or two' - this time he is saying '(at the end of July) this is when we will really need to strengthen the team'

Even if we make some signings, i can't see Wenger splashing enough cash to get the quality we need to win the PL.

The line ups you mention would not be good enough to finish in the top 4, indeed they would be lucky to finish higher than 6th.

If Cesc and Nasri go we are stuffed and attendances at the Emirates will plummet.

The tickets may have already been sold but that doesn't mean fans will always turn up to watch c*ap. There are always empty seats despite the announcer claiming another 60,000 + attendance at home games.

    By the looks of what?
All we've had is Fab saying he's happy. Wenger saying he doesnt want him to go. And Wenger saying Arsenal and Nasri are talking, and that he won't sell him.
All but the last one have ACTUALLY been said, anything else is speculation.

Remember last year they said Fab would go, and when he didnt they said we had 'an agreement' that he could go this year? If there was indeed an agreement, we would have to honour it this season. But he hasn't gone has he? Therefore, no agreement, therefore, papers got it wrong.
So why does everyone believe them now?

I think we will sell all our first team squad and the directors will pocket the money, so we won't sing anyone.

    So our team for next season will be;

    ----------Martinez--------
    Bellerin--Miquel--Bartley--Jenkinson
    -----Coquelin----Frimpong-------
    Lansbury----Miyaichi----Pedro Botelho
    ----------Gervinho------------

(Gervinho will be signed to mask the exodus)

I think this team will finish above Tottenham Hotspur, but thats a given really, especially considering the mass exodus from WHL. Whether we finish above anyone else is anybodys guess.

I know it's off topic but I would LOVE to see Bartley play in the first team next season. He's exactly what we need in defence!!

We will probably get relegated - but not just one division they will send us down to non league football just because they can and will replace us with stockport county

This was theoretical, and out of our current crop of players, those are our best teams. Maybe you could put Rosicky in there somewhere, but I don't think he's that good.
