As a fan of Liverpool i am Redbrynner!! But under the guise of a manager I turn into Gafa Brynitez. I must confess i am at the moment waiting by the phone for a call from kenny asking my advice, yet alas it has not rung yet. I just thought I would make a post to talk about what i believ is already our best 11 incorporating both seniors and some of the young guns. This is the team I think should be starting every game: Formation : 4:3:3 Gk: reina - great keeper, hasnt been his best season, but quality distribution and shot stopper RB: Glen johnson: Good Defender, good going forward, will contribute a couple of goals a season LB: Enrique: Good Defender, good going forward CB: Skrtel: Your hard man defender, will get you a couple of goals from set pieces every season too...PAIRS WELLL WITH... CB: Agger: Great Defender, but also can carry the ball forward to either give us numbers advantage in the final third or have a go with his belter of a left foot. Then 3 man Centre midfield consisiting of: CM: gerrard/Shelvey - the box to box, gerrards legs not once what they were so dont overplay him and replace with Shelvey every other. CM: Lucas/pearing - Lucas ideally as the DM, but Spearing till hes back so the rest of the team get used to playing this formation, either can add some goals every season CM: Suso: Can run, can ping it long, can be involved in clever interplay, can score goals. free kick taker as well if gerrard is not in the side. Three man attack LF: Sterling: pace to burn, trickery, desire, ambition and a sight for goal RF: Suarez: this is where he played for Ajax and is his best position,m we know what he is about CF: Carroll, Big striker, great left foot: how it works: this team can play through the middle, with gerrard, Suso and Lucas all having good technical skill!! We also have pacey full backs, in Johnson and enrique creating space outwide. And then we have the mother of front lines Sterling being pacey and truly terrfying from the left, if they try to mark him heavily it creates space for a very dangerous luis Suarez on the right to look dangerous. if they try and mark both, then carroll gets bullish and scares the life through the middle. Cons: We lack a bit of height? But with Agger Skrtel, Shelvey, gerrard, we do have some, As Coates comes in this will improve again. Carroll will have to come back to defend at corners, but with Suarez and Sterling ready to counter this does not worry me... in short to tick various boxes: height: Agger, Skrtel, Gerrard/Shelvey, Carroll. Pace: johnson, Enrique, Sterling, (Suarez, Suso) technical Skill: Lucas, Suso, Suarez, Sterling Goals: Carrol, Suarez, Sterling, (more than 10 each) gerrard, Suso (More than 5 each) Agger, Skrtel, Lucas, johnson, Enrique (token contribution.) This side, could improve with aquisiations, notably a 6foot 3 midfield monster to replace gerrard and a cf who gets hard ons from banging them in, but aside from that i reckon we have the making of a very very good an adaptable side there........ Thoughts??
i think kenny has a cheek not picking up the phone. At least comolli could have even to enquire as to the availabilty of your players. I'd really rather buy a few players than play that team but.... I'd adive kenny to starting picking a 4-3-3 at all elvels and spend all preseason practicing it cos the two times he's tried it we've been awfully poor cos we can get our positioning right. oh and i'd rather you tell kenny to sack carragher next year, pick coates, buy a real cm etc etc...
