I am here at the Valley on deadline day, just me and 6 CAST officials, and no Andy Delort. How is this so? Where's big Andy? I was told that he would be signing and in big letters too. And also with the word FACT. I've been watching all the other clubs sign players on sky news and I want to be on TV I want to be like they are at QPR right now with lots of asbo children and street urchins waving Chelsea flags in the faces of the sky presenters. I want to be like Hull where badly dressed teenagers with awful haircuts are celebrating wildly the arrival of a player that they have never heard of. Even the CAST boys are now voting on going home.
I have had to watch SSN since 8am. I am bored stiff. I was hoping CAFC would make a few moves to make it slightly interesting, but I gave up shortly before Delort was announced. Deals done x
You might know this being in the business, but why do Sky see the need to send reporters to the car parks of every PL football club and have their jounalists abused and humiliated by asbo kids every season? Is this punishment? It seems one journo has been assaulted with a dildo, another has been called a clunt and now one has been using the word decorum to kids whose only need for a three Syllable word is McDonalds. It's car crash tv but very watchable.
Early word is it might be the last time. As for why it started, I don't think there was one reason other than wanting to break to stories first. Like most things sky do, they want to monopolise their market. The whole FHITP thing is now boring. The dildo was interesting.. You usually find when the journos involve the kids more, talk with them in between breaks etc that they will be well behaved. But everyone wants to be a YouTube/twitter celebrity it is no longer viable IMO.
I'd never heard of this Andy Delort chap, but having seen a photo, I was very impressed by the amount of hair gel he uses. Word seemed to get around that he's pretty good, even though nobody's seen him, so full marks to his agent. Can't we just say we've signed someone with an exotic name, like Caballero di Fontano, and keep making excuses for his absence, like Cory Gibbs, or Martin Christensen?
I thought he'd be a good signing, but in the cold light of 2 september, I have to admit I'd never heard of him in june. I agree with the Big Bob quote that we don't need mere bodies but decent signings, so a couple of expensive make-weights would'nt really have done us much good. However, my view is that we are still light, so I hope we bring in a loan or two. Now I suppose I'd better do some work.
Another transfer deadline day and the tumbleweed blows across the gates of Sparrows Lane... like last January... September 2013.... January 2013.... but at least we didn't lose Church to a Prem Club
On a serious note, for all the talk about Roland being the next Sultan of Brunei, his wallet now seems to be empty. The squad /team is still 2/3 players short.
