WHAT I SENT: Don't agree with your decision to uphold the red card on Derry. I think this season I have seen the worst referring decisions in over thirty years of watching football. As a QPR fan I have seen: a goal given as offside against WBA that should have been a goal; a goal not give against Bolton when it had clearly crossed the line; and Derry sent off when Young was clearly offside and dived. I am starting to wonder if watching football is worth it anymore with the incompetence of officials and the way the FA brush it all under the carpet. The FA need to modernise itself and give football back to the people. Get your act together please and stop favouring the big clubs.
While I agree we've had considerably more against us than for us this season in terms of major, match-changing errors, we have had some go our way such as the handball Derry got away with at Villa, Cisse's goal at Bolton etc. It's a shame that this whole Ashley bastard Young affair has meant there's been no mention whatsoever of that horrendous, from behind, knee-high Rooney tackle that Mason would have surely at least booked him for if he wasn't too busy asking him for an autograph.
Surely "Respect" is a two way thing, and until the FA respect us as paying fans how can we Respect them and their officials. All the talk is about goal line technology buy why can't the 4th official have a monitor to review any contentious decisions. The barmy FA say it would disrupt the game, but would take less time than that taken by arguing players. It would also pick up the divers and the high tackles, which if Red Carded would surely reduce the chances of that player doing it again. There is so much money in football nowadays it can't be left to human error by non accountable officials. I know the league is 38 games but if like Wigan who lost to Chelsea by two offside goals go down by a point or goal difference then financially it could mean the end of their club. More so with us and our alleged wage structure, so a bad ref or assistant ref's decision could affect the lives of hundreds of people. That wouldn't be tolerated in any other walk of life or sport so why football.
I'm a Chelsea fan and had a field day on the Man Utd games and the QPR games. Also mentioned the Terry case, and the lack of bans for players like Rooney and bans for Derry. I also mentioned the unfair treatment of Suarez in the Evra case (I will explain my reasoning for that if you wish, it's not because I am a racist). Will we get a reply back? Or do they just read it and forget it?
I agree with you, but it's not correct according to this: DECISIONS TABLE TEAM PLAYED FOR AGAINST TOTAL Stoke 31 22 7 15 Bolton 30 16 4 12 QPR 31 10 5 5 Newcastle 31 13 9 4 Fulham 31 6 3 3 A. Villa 30 6 3 3 Wolves 31 11 9 2 Sunderland 31 10 8 2 Swansea 31 6 6 0 Norwich 31 10 11 -1 Blackburn 31 6 7 -1 Tottenham 31 11 13 -2 Man Utd 31 7 10 -3 Chelsea 31 7 11 -4 Man City 31 6 10 -4 Wigan 31 5 9 -4 WBA 31 9 15 -6 Everton 31 4 10 -6 Liverpool 31 8 16 -8 Arsenal 31 6 15 -9 Not very lucid I know, but check out the link, quite interesting though not believable http://www.debatabledecisions.com/
I complained weeks ago, still no reply. We're just as angry with the Ivanovic ban and lack of consistency shown by the FA.
That list is subjective though and based on the opinion of one person. If you look I'm pretty sure the person says Luiz's foul on Helguson wasn't, whereas some might disagree. It would be far more accurate to base tables like this on offsides which aren't subjective. Penalties may not necessarily be converted so it would be pointless basing it on those as well.
Um, I think you will find that other than their names sounding similar there is no justification for mentioning the Derry and Terry cases in the same communication. One clearly involves a refereeing error that the FA didn't have the balls to correct. The other clearly involves a player making a racist remark that the FA have nicely deflected into the long grass in conjunction with the Met. If I was SD who is the ultimate professional and all round nice bloke I would be most put out to be brought up in the same discussion as the bigoted JT.
It amazes me that the FA are readily prepared to use video footage to ban a player retrospectively when the ref has missed a bad challenge or violent conduct, but close their eyes and look the other way when one of their appointed referee's get a decision completely wrong. Surely it has to work both ways? Football is fast becoming as corrupt as the Olympic committee where they are answerable to nobody in any country in the world. Clubs by choosing to play in a certain league have to sign away their right to legally challenge the FA, UEFA or FIFA's decisions. Football needs a governing body, but it needs it to be fair, consistent and above all logical. But at the moment there is none of this. Nobody knows what the hell to expect because identical cases get conflicting results. Soon clubs will have to go to court to challenge these archaic rules so that football is run fairly and players and clubs can be represented fairly. Until then we have to put up with this utter BS and ultimately football suffers.
I had a general go at their dealing with the incident. I made the points independnet of eachother. I didn't actually voice support for Terry.
