Never heard of 'em, hang on a mo, didn't a guy called Pennant play for us a couple of seasons ago? Memory plays strange tricks.
It is very strange. There are some of them who are past it/ never had it, some that didn't work, and some that just never got a chance. We've pretty much done the Tuncay argument to death, but for anyone who missed my opinion, here it is; I think we were right to get rid of him (although you could argue we coud have ****ed Pulis off and built a team around someone like Tuncay), because I don't think the lad worked as a team player. He obviously had boat loads of talent, but has never really made it anywhere. I never liked Kitson, did **** all for us, or Pompey, I think he's playing in league 1 somewhere now. And that Edu is ****, I got told that by Rangers fans when we signed him, don't know why we went for him in the first place. But that does leave Pennant, Shea, Owen, Arismendi, Palacios and Cuveiler. Arismendi had some loan spells that didn't turn out too successful, and now is now back in Uruguay. Not good enough, or never given the chance? We can definitely say he never had the chance, ability/ potential unknown. Same goes for Cuveiler. Hopefully he'll get a chance at some point, but he might have already been ruined. Who knows, if not for Pulis, Shotton could be a good player by now.
