He is currently playing in the youth team as he has been deemed not old and injury prone enough to be considered for the first team....... <doh>

He may be old but he doesn't let us down when he plays. Obviously not one for the future but better than Leadknob.

Keep hearing this doesn't let us down, by a lot of people about some of our players, and I have no idea what it means. It indicates to me that they did not really do much, but there again did not do anything drastically wrong. I want to hear they were a pain in the backside to the opposition, full of ideas, menacing, and linking up with other players, and full of pace, were box to box men, and closed down the opposition runners. Then I woke up.

He doesn't have a lot left in him. It's another one like Hyam where he's been overlooked for so long that he won't come in and perform now.

Last season though he was clear captain material. He was at his best sitting in front of the defence and throwing his neck on the line - one example is that if he'd been there instead of Leadbitter then the Posh drubbing wouldnt have happened.

solid, reliable player but where would you play him?
He is a left back or sitting midfielder. The only player NOT to have let us down this season is Cresswell so that rules out LB. Our midfield is poor but if we want to play a defensive, sitting midfielder then surely Hyam has to get the nod purely down to age and the hint of moving the club forward
Would also agree with Truthseeker, playing a player just because he is reliable is hardly a sign of the forward thinking. We need motivation, movement, intelligence, energy and something a lot more dynamic then reliable. I would settle for the reliable old head if 4 or 5 other players could offer the energetic, attacking thrust that we need but playing 1 'old head' around 7 or 8 idiots is going to get us nowhere
