I can't help but feel that MA is not his usual self anymore. I've heard more and more that the players don't get on with him and that our chairman would be quite happy to see him go already. His recent interviews haven't had the jokey arrogant tone of the Mad Dog we all love and trust. He's been sounding more dejected and unsure about his position. Just watch the youtube clip of MA announcing Danny Hollands. He didn't sound very enthusiastic about someone he's apparently been apparently after for a long time. And now there is this: http://www.kentonline.co.uk/kentonline/sport/inform-strikers-give-allen-plenty-5381/ MA asked Cody to publicly abuse him. That's not the type of message he should be asking his players to give to him in the public eye.

What has happened in a couple of months to change the jubilations of his first promotion as a manager, to now sounding so miserable and depressed. Has he lost the trust of the players and the board because of his decision to relieve Mark Patterson of his duties. We all know he upset one of our best players in Jack Payne by using the rotation policy, have the rest of the players now cottoned on its not what they want?

I like Martin, he's the first manager to win us a leage in 49 years. Some of his policies I have disagreeed with, certainly some of the players that have left the team but usually they've all paid off for the better. I don't want him to go but I'm certainly worried about his future.

I think that he might not seem as happy because of the league position , a win tomorrow and I'm sure he would be a very happy man . As for players losing their temper with him - I have not heard anything about that .

While I was not there last week I have read reports that MA went mental when we scored at the end. that's someone who cares

The mood is obviously not going to be as good as last year purely because we will not win every week or score last minute goals to snatch a point , the important thing is that the fans stay positive and get behind the team. Manager and Chairman .... Yes Chairman , and with that results will come, and everyone will have the same enjoyment as last year .

Reading that report I think MA was just having a bit of banter with the media. Maybe he did say that to Cody maybe he did not. However, if Cody had done that in public to MadDog whether in jest or not I would not have been happy. Hence why I believe it is just Martin Allen's sense of humour coming out. The manager I find very frustrating at times with his selections/transfers etc and I have spoken openly about this since the beginning of last season, but he is the boss and he has found us some good experience that has got us to where we are now. I still believe he is paying the price for some of my highlighted youth v experience from last season but hey so what, I've seen all the league games so far this season and apart from Wolves the lads have done ok. Tomorrow is another day.

Don't think we need to worry MA is committed to this club he wants success just as much as the fans do. He is the type of manager that on occasions lives for and speaks of the moment. in essence he is often not so reflective and speaks openly about how he feels...despite how he might want to be perceived. In MA I trust and come on u Gills

I totally disagree with that, just by going to the training ground you can see there is no conflict between any of the players and Martin Allen. Just as I walked over yesterday to watch they were introducing Danny Hollands to the squad and it was all a barrel of laughs. I believe that Martin Allen thought that league one would have been easier than it has been so far. He's a winner, he hates losing and drawing, if come 5pm tonight we're sitting on five points there won't be a bigger grin in Medway than his.

As for the Cody sticking your finger up issue, I think that's fantastic personally, its a message to Cody saying 'go out there and prove to me you deserve to start next week', 'prove me wrong'.

And where have you heard that GPL?

I've seen a few quite new posters on various forums calling for MA's head, and saying 'things aren't right' in the club. But to me it's all just muck stirring and people trying to cause frictions.

Unless a player or the owner comes out and actually says so, I don't believe any of it myself.

For libel reasons I can't say who. People who are close to certain players have been told that they aren't happy with him.

So what. He's not here to win popularity contests, he's here to build a reasonable team with the available finances. In every job, football or otherwise, there are employees, some of whom like thier manager and some who don't. They can always ask for a transfer if they don't like him or his methods, just as we can always look for another job, if we don't like the present one.

You are totally right Vinney. Footballers are an extremely privelidged group in terms of work. Sometimes I think they forget that. It's your job get on with what your manager tells you to do like everyone else has to!
