Tomorrow I can envisage this board and several other Saints boards being fairly quiet as we celebrate another victory.

The closer we get to the game the more convinced I am that we will win against the Argyle.

How will we celebrate? Bit premature maybe but it would take a near miracle for us to throw away the advantage after a win. Me I have some cans parked in the fridge and will start opening them as soon as we have won or have a big enough lead to feel secure.

    You??

My old man is an Argyle fan, so I'll have to phone him up and commiserate, then I'm going to get really pissed.

The old man will be pretty down, but hey - that's football, can't all be winners. He gave me enough **** when Saints dropped down throught the leagues so he is expecting some back <laugh>

Not the same though when it is your dad. Bet he has taught you a lot about banter with you both supporting different teams.

No, I know that, I was brought up by my Mum as my Dad is a horrible person and is a severe alcoholic, He I believe is a gills fan, But my Mum is also a Gillingham Fan so I don't have all that.

SFC4BAG, with my Dad an Argyle fan, my mum a Burnley fan and my brother a Liverpool plastic, we've all served it up to each other over the years so I'm not going to tiptoe around it. Bragging rights are priceless so although I might feel for him, I won't hold back and neither would he expect me to - as he so often used to tell me 'I taught you better than that' <laugh>

I was digging a little as you may have noticed. My first marriage was similar with none of the wife's lot supporting our team. Liverpool plastic, Chelsea and West Ham plus one Orient fan who took me to the game when we got promoted to the old first division. Plenty of stick but generally as banter should be with no real malicious intent. My current wife has Millwall fans in the family and boy do I get some from them.

All part of the fun of being a football supporter.

Try meeting a Pompey girl at Uni, marrying into her family, living in Southsea and my base work location being Pompey!
I absolutely love the banter and bring on more of it next season!!
There's only a couple of pubs I can't go to and still most of my neighbours have no idea :)

I married a Charlton fan, who joined us on a free transfer a few years back. It wasn't that difficult for her; even the red and White 6 ft scarf she had knitted as a teenager was usuable. Not that you would get her to the footy when it's cold!! strictly a Autumn Spring fan. Not so much a plastic as a fleecy! No real banter with her in-laws as both clubs have had a very chequered time recently, although he is very down at the moment.:)
