CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT Posted on: Fri 10 Jun 2011 Regrettably, the Club can confirm that, for a number of reasons, we will not be holding an end of season parade following our promotion to the Premier League. We know this will be a huge disappointment to our fans who have been fantastic this season and everyone at the Club shares this view. The Club had held discussions about putting such a celebration on going back over a number of weeks but, unfortunately, the on-going FA inquiry, coupled with other factors beyond our control, prevent this from happening. Article continues Advertisement However, plans are already afoot for a pre-season celebration, once the players return to training in July. We will, of course, keep you - our supporters - updated with any developments in due course. http://www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2356978,00.html
Funnily enough, I was thinking about this earlier. And I wondered if there has ever been owners of any club that cared less about it's supporters?
maybe they are p****d off with being slagged off all the time when, like them or not, they have got us back to the prem after a very long absence without getting any credit at all? And now they are trying to run us on a budget so that we don't finish up in the mess that we got into last time if / when it all goes t*ts up ... which it normally does for us!
That's one point of view, another is don't put stuff like this on the official website, if you're not going to do it!
Didn't you guys get your invite?? I woundered why i was on my own on that yacht in Monaco. Fyi it was ****, the canape's were disappointing the Champagne wasn't vintage and everyone spoke Italian!
You mean the sound, frugal logic of ploughing in £40m in the hope of getting promoted and then being tighter than Blackpool veteran's second XI when the gamble works and there's an influx of £100m and the potential of half that every year for a smaller gamble? They're unpopular cos Bernie has as much interest in football as I do in the history of crocheted blankets and Flav thinks that coaching badges come in cornflake packets and that he can pick a team better than people who have lived the game all their lives (ie all the 78 managers he's got through since he's been in charge). Everyone's entitled to their views but some are flawed, illogical or just plain wrong. Sadly yours is the latter....
For God's sake, don't reinvent history: they didn't get us promoted. After Flabbio had fired his fourth or fifth manager, Amit Bhatia took over and appointed Neil Warnock as manager and Ishan Saksena as CEO. Coupled with Neil's eye for a player and sound tactics, Bhatia's prudent management, his patience and long term vision, these are the things that got us promoted!
What's the point? The gloss has long worn off the achievement by now and if there was a 'celebration' there is no doubt ****-features Flav and snake-boy Paladini would be in the middle of it basking in the glory like they did in Italy last week. Every day that passes is making me angrier and angrier!
Blimey I feel like I was at the centre of the Tottenham riots after reading the responses to my post! Have no problem with people diagreeing with my point of view, but thats all it is - it is the whole point of these boards after all. I'm not very happy about being called a dip sh*t though - if you just abuse someone because you don't agree with your opinion you don't exactly encourage debate ... and you could say that you are behaving a bit like the Flav/Bernie by trying to stiffle any opinion that doesn't agree with your own. Anyhow, don't know if I will bother posting again so all the best to the eloquent posters on here and the previous 606 board - have always enjoyed them, particularly the info supplied by cernyberny .... here's to the new season, whatever it may bring
Just noticed that and edited it, there's plenty on here agree with your point of view, just they've not turned up yet! Keep posting
