What happened to the Man Ure loans? Did the two lads we were tipped to bag from the reds fall through? I last heard it was delayed for the club tour. Did I miss some news? Or, is it a bit early for the loan market to kick in?
If we want to loan anyone for the season, we need to do it now, you can't do full season loans in the emergency loan window. It looks like Tunnicliffe is staying at Man United and Bruce Jnr joining has probably scuppered the Keane deal.
I'd rather us try out our own youth rather then relying on Man Utd's youth. As an example, I'd like Danny Emerton and Lewis Clarkson to be tried out.
I'd rather have Tunnicliffe over Emerton any day of the week. Sounds a bit harsh but that's the reality. Tunnicliffe is more than capable of bossing a midfield at this level, I doubt very much Emerton could have that sort of influence on a game. He wouldn't get anywhere near. I know some will say Emerton has never had the chance but if he was good enough he would have been given a go. Fact is he isn't. Not saying he won't make it but those who know far more than any poster on this board have deemed him not good enough. I'm not sure if there are any plans for Emerton to go out on loan but there is no conspiracy. At this moment in time he isn't good enough to be near the first team.
Agreed. I'd much rather nurture a player through the City ranks, give him some tests in the First side in friendlies, cup games etc, and then sell him allowing the Club to have profit. Sometimes you get a player that's good enough to make the first side such as Tom Cairney and then it's understandable that we would use our own talent rather than someone from Man Utd. But as you say NFU, some players simply aren't good enough to make the jump and therefore we delve into the talent which is within Man Utd's youth system.
Steve Bruce said on the radio last weekend to Burnsy that he is waiting for SAF to make up his mind which kids will be kept and which can go (either on loan or be sold). SAF does have bigger fish to fry at the moment. Whatever does happen will more than likely be in the last week of August. From what i saw of the Man Utd kids XI @ Scun.thorpe the other week none of them are ready for the first team.Yet.
Bruce said he was waiting on other managers decisions, but to my knowledge he didn't refer to SAF at all.
Yeah but your just a brainless dick head who doesn't know **** about football. So go crawl back in that hole you came from #utt and our local talent
I'm not sure why all this venom towards this team Man Utd, if we had had a fraction of the success, a fraction of the history of this fine club then I would have been more than delighted for the Hull City. I spent some time on the Stretford End at Old Trafford, sometimes it was cheaper than going to a City away game, and came to understand their expectations, which was, I may hasten to add, something that Hull City could only dream about. Hull City are my team but Manchester United of the day were a dream team, well the forward line was, Best, Law, Charlton, Aston, Connelly/ Kidd, Morgan. Then in defense Crerand/Buchan, Forsyth, Macari, Daley, Greenhoff, Houston, McQueen, Wilkins (Butch), and that's without mentioning the likes of Cantona, Beckam, ect. I won't go on about the likes of Albert Scanlon, Albert Quixall, Johnny Giles, Nobby Stiles, David Herd, Harry Gregg or Alex Stepney, as I'm sure it will be lost on most of you, but if the Tigers had had half as much history I would have been highly delighted.
Bruce did say when asked by Burnsey with City's history and good relationship with Man u and your connections with SAF what are the chance of somthing being done loan wise, and Bruce answered something along the lines as that he was in touch, and it wasn't out of the question.
Stop running away from yourself Ref, your clearly a red. The very idea of having a second club is just disgusting. Two wives is controversial, but two teams is abhorent, odious and absolutely despicable. There !
Wow just like the banter with my old mates most of whom were either Leeds Utd or Liverpool supporters and one guy for some reason Arsenal, but all, along with me, use to go to City matches home and away most weeks no matter what. Yes Man Utd were a second team to me but there was also another team that got me into loads of trouble and that was Brazil. Whenever a World Cup came round I use to make sure I could watch Brazil on the tele, Didi, Garrincha, Pele, Santos then later Falcao, Carlos Alberto, Jairzhino, Tostao, Rivelino, Socrates, pure magic. I make no apologies for widening my scope of teams I watched on the tele just wished some of these players could have played for city.
I enjoy television football every bit as much as you do ref. But to declare an allegiance for another club is in my mind... an error. Im trying to be polite !
Then I'm afraid we will have to agree to disagree, Hull City have been in my blood since the late 1950's but that doesn't stop me admiring the quality of players from other teams. Incidentally my avatar is me standing in the directors box at Nou Camp or Camp Nou as the Spanish call it another team of pure class of the time, like they are now.
