This weekend I watched Lucky Number Slevin for the 1st time, was ok quite a good spin at the end. Taken 2 was ok nowt special but as a easy watch not bad. Same premise of the 1st just roles reversed. Fast Five, just like the rest of the franchise, high octane, fast cars, fighting, but really good, the Rock looks like he is carrying carpets lol
Just sitting down to watch 'Ice Cold in Alex' on Film4. Later on the same channel at 3:30 - providing the kids don't take control of the remote, I will be watching James Mason as Rommel in 'The Desert Fox'.
Strangely enough considering ST and myself argue like cat and dog we have quite a few things in common and share common interests. One of which is 1940's Hollywood film noir. The likes of Bogey, old sleepy eyes Mitchum etc were in some fantastic films. Mitchum being my favourite in that genre.
Yup and not driving. Watched Babel again recently, good film even though I'm not a big fan of Brad Pitt.
I've watched Django Unchained,Flight and Lincoln in the last couple of weeks and out of the 3 I found Flight the most enjoyable, but that's just me others may differ in their preference.
I never ever get tired of watching The Grapes of Wrath, which contains( to quote ER from a different thread), great acting, cinematography, storyline and authentic snapshot of an America long since gone. The first thirty minutes are without parallel in my opinion. Just watched it again at the weekend. Edit; Springsteen's Ghost of Tom Joad - fine fine album - is based on the film.
Not a remake but I did love Hancock's version of 12 Angry Men "As Shakespeare said in The Merchant Of Vienna"
