Well done on securing your football league status with lots of room to spare. I know it's been a bloody rough couple of seasons for you but hey ho, it's football. Is there anything happening in around the club that could give indication that brighter times may lay ahead or the do immediate & short term prospects still look as bleak as it has been for most of this season?
Hi Thai thanks for your interest. There are plenty on here more informed than I but, from where I'm sitting, it's looking as though our financial problems are easing and budgetary control is increasing (the squad is being reduced). Financial stability has to be our main concern for the foreseeable future and, with that in mind, we won't be spending and will not be carrying any dead wood. Staying in League 2 will probably be the aim as we wouldn't survive in League 1.
Big plus if the finances are looking better but a bit sad that restraint is the way forward for the time being. I appreciate it is probably a vicious circle with the sort of attendances you get and finding players that will make a difference on a low budget is always a hard juggling act. On the bright side, Pompey should give you a healthy pay day next season! As always, will be watching you guys, my soft spot for you is still there
