Do believe this song is meant to be a joke by a Swedish comedian.

The fact he's been able to easily knock out what sounds like a standard modern pop choon, with silly lyrics over it, and obtain chart success, tells you everything you need to know about music in 2014.

    IMO anyway.

I get that its a joke, but for people to seriously buy it is beyond me.

This came out in Norway back in August 2013.

It's made by two Norwegian comedian brothers called Ylvis... it was just a clip/segment of one of their Friday night programmes. Yes, it's a piss-take.

They've done a couple of mock songs and they're good friends with Stargate - the Norwegian but LA-based, sometime producers of Rihanna/Beyonce etc., who produce the music and video.

    See also Ylvis 'Stonehenge'.

Mo, it's a joke, some people like to pay for funny stuff. Some people like to laugh and enjoy life. Don't be hating on them.

There's far worse stuff out there on the internet than that too...

It's a childrens book, bruv. About what noise a fox makes, surprisingly.

I think you're reading too much into it. There's been novelty pop songs that have sold since the 1950s - Mr Blobby, Grandma I love you, Summer Holiday, most of the stuff released in the 1980s...

Agreed. Do they actually know what is good music ? The charts just sums up today's generation.
