Tonight's result suggests its Goodnight Vienna to the Blue Mancs in the CL! This will relieve them of a more complicated fixture run-in to the PL! We , on the other hand now have to grapple with Galatasaray, and I suspect Jose will have a plan to ensure we move forward! This will make our battle to secure the PL title that bit harder than I thought it would be this morning! What thoughts do you Blues think of their result and what it means for us?

It won't change too much because Prem games can't be played on CL nights so those weeks are still blank to them. Of course they'll be fresher for their weekend games.

City WILL play 2 extra mid week games in March than us.

If we progress until CL Semis - we would play 4 mid week games.

If City progress further in FA cup which is more likely than we progressing until CL Semis - they would be as tired as we would be, with as many mid weeks.

    This is a non issue.

Remember - League cup, Jose conceded the match before kickoff by starting Lamps + Mikel.
Guess he did the same for FA cup by starting Mikel against City at Etihad.

After all Jose has a method to his madness - always!

What it means to me is that City aren't the unbeatable force that people thinks they are!! Any team that wins the Prem this year will be the weakest to win it in many years and that includes Chelsea!!

Further to my last comment- this is the weakest Barca team in years yet they comfortably dispatched the future premier league ("elect"- by public opinion) champions at their ground easily!!

Poor tactics from Pellegrini didn't help City. Barca can be beaten, we have done it often enough in recent times, but trying to outplay them technically is not the way. Barca don't like it up em, they eventually flap and become petulant if you let them tippy tap without success for a while, and they have absolutely no plan B, mainly because in Spain they don't need one.
Barca are far from unbeatable, but it will take better management from Pellegrini and better application from the players.

I wouldn't mind Barca BM2, rather them than Bayern just now, who do you fancy ??
Actually, we'd better roll Galatasary first !!!!

CP-We've had our way with both of them over the years! I feel Bayern would be our biggest test if we move forward, as Jose has a great recent knowledge of Barca and would be up to the task of out-maneuvering them! Save Bayern for the final and hope for the best!

Agree would rather Barca than Bayern atm. However lets get past Galatasary first before worrying about the quarters and hope Real draw PSG and Barca draw Bayern!!

I want Bayern, Jose vs Pep!!!!! Then Barca then Madrid in the final or even a United hahahaha

Although I would happily take a route of a Gala, Olympiakos and Atletico/PSG/Dortmund to get us to the final

So many good sides in it this year. Dortmund don't look as good as last year but Atletico and PSG look a real threat as well and could spring some surprises. We should get to the quarters but from them on it will be very very tough.

True, but even then (assuming it is United) that is still a tough game when you factor in rivalry etc. Kind of hope United get a Bayern or Barca to watch them get completed destroyed!!

Seems like the catchphrase "take it one game at a time" is true for everyone this year. A very tough bunch one and all.

I do not think it will change too much for Chelsea.

Both teams are going to give everything they have to win the Premier League title.
