A 4-1 thrashing of Leeds on their own patch yesterday and this bloody forum is quiet as the grave. I'm doing my best to keep things moving on here but it seems to no avail. Half the buggers who enjoy Sheepy's Prediction League only come on here to post on that and make no other contributions to the forum. Getting a bit pissed off with it myself and am deciding whether to personally bother any more.
Lots of the boards are like that Sparks, about half a dozen big posters and most of the rest only post if something they are more interested in comes up. I don't think anyone can criticise the amount of work you put into this board and at times it must feel that you are talking to yourself.
Come on Sparks. You do a great job. There are probably about a dozen of us who post fairly regularly. We're just not as prolific as you. I saw you having a bit of fun on the Leeds match day thread yesterday. They're a bunch of happy bunnies - NOT!!! I must admit I'm surprised there is not more action on here. We saw a few "old timers" posting a week or so ago but not a proper return to the fold. Are people using other forums, as at a lot of other clubs - just look at the stats by division? Or just can't be arsed? Put off by wums from other clubs and the incessant barrage from 30 miles west - until recently. Or is there still reticence from the John Hughes issues? Are people just fed up with airing their views in public, so to speak? Unlikely with everything else on social media. Keep it going Sparks. Your thought provoking posts would be greatly missed.
Cheers Bluey but it seems like pissing against the wind on times. As far as the Leeds bord is concerned, it's a great place to post for a chat if you don't take it too seriously and it's been going on all through today. . In fact, there is far more to be said for staying up there and occasionally visiting here rather than the other way around.
I admit to posting on here in response to other people's posts. Suppose it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Fewer posts fewer responses. There was a discusson a few weeks back about how to get more posters but we're starting from a low base. I'll continue to hang around like a bad smell.......
I'm online most weekdays (when I should be working ). You're doing a fantastic job mate. Most weekends, I'm either at the footy, on the pop, or spending time with my kids .
I just like reading ( Not Reading) . After taking ages to find this board again. I'll make more of an effort to post. Even if I haven't much to say . I used to post fairly regular on the old 606.
I must admit to enjoying the read, more than writing TBH! I used to write about the old day players who none on here seem to remember...I would mention somebody like Peter Hooper back in the sixties...and I could guarantee that our much missed Blue Prophet would have something to say about him! Can’t even think about players who don’t seem to care about playing for our club...Kenwyn Jones, Lee Tomlin and perhaps the attitude of Kenneth Zohore! Did you see the sitter Zohore missed in front of goal, before Pilkington scored? What was that about...and his reaction...nothing? I am afraid money is ruining the game, and the lack of enthusiasm to write everyday is a biproduct of it! Sparkey you are a real “leg end” and I for one would miss your everyday posts! Your old mate Domdimdom pal! Barry Tigers a lot older than Masky though!
Sparky.... don't quit on us fella. I'm guilty as charged for not being on for a very long time and only popping on infrequently. I used to be able to post while at work but changed company and now work for a large aerospace company that have their IT systems nailed down I've been reading more regularly recently and will try make an effort to contribute more.... Feel a bit like Tomlin now (ie. Barely contributing to the cause). I reckon I have the same "low ribs" condition he suffers too....
But BT is younger than me. He just looks older. At last we have a pen pic of Doris. Is that you struggling for breath Masky?
