Should you, and I fully expect you to, win the title it will mean a lot to the clubs in England that are not bankrolled with obscene amounts of money from foreign mega-billionaires. For me, a lifelong Bristol City supporter, it will have some personal meaning. My Welsh father in 1929, married a girl from Birstall. She died two years later in childbirth but my father always kept in contact with her family and after the war, his new family including me, visited Leicester three or four times a year. Dad had introduced me to league football at Ashton Gate and Ninian Park and likewise on our trips to your city, he always made sure that Leicester City were at home on the day. So I have good memories of Arthur Rowley, Jack Froggatt, Matt Gillies and John Anderson from the top tier of the old double decker. I was there in 1957 when you clinched promotion to the First with a 1-1 draw against my first love, Bristol City. And another memory was four years later when we were drawn away against you in the FA Cup round 4. Two train loads set out. The first train arrived at 2-40 pm and we just made it in time for kick off. It was a miracle that it was even started as Filbert Street looked like a boating lake. A turgid first half was almost over when the occupants of the second train arrived, paid to get in and see five minutes only before the ref abandoned it at half time. As all you Foxes will know, you won the re-arranged game 5-1, got to Wembley only to lose to Spurs. So it has taken a long time but this year is payback time isn't it? Best wishes to everyone and please don't explode in the remaining games.
We have a foreign mega-billionaires owner, he´s just not done a Chelsea, PSG or a Man City. Cheers & all the best.
My uncle lived in Filbert St in the nineteen sixties, you could see the match from his attic. My cousin lived in Mountsorrel and they both supported Leicester. So in a way they are my second team. I really hope you do it and make an amazing hat trick of East Midlands champions along with the two Clough teams of Derby and Forest.
As were not one of the market leaders and havent spent many pounds notes im sure its good for all of football Just ask Sean Dyche
