a subject that has been aired before .. bit like top 4 scots teams joining English leagues?
It looks as if the majority of the teams are England? and guaranteed 20 years tenure? so how would that work is my first question say 20? teams in league and 2 maybe get relegated to provide for 2 promoted? interesting when you think maybe 8 countries could / are involved .. a mini knockout competition of 8 teams ...in the hat go 8 4 win which then leaves 2 so just an extra 2 games!!
but who goes out? 20 teams or whatever and the bottom 8 are all "guaranteed not to be relegated" …. how would that work? just play each season until one / two of the non guaranteed is in bottom 2?

Der Spiegel listed Real Madrid, AC Milan, Arsenal, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Manchester United as the seven clubs pushing the idea forward but suggested that others, including, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool would enjoy protected status and not face relegation.
POSSIBLY ANOTHER 5 CLUBS AS WELL? …. BBC Sport has contacted the other five founder clubs for a response.
NO French, no Belgium, no Dutch ? no Portugese? round trips to Lisbon/ madrid/ Barcelona all over circa 2000 miles /Lisbon 3000 …… how about ROME!

Too be quite frank with you Sky and the Europian influx of players has ruined the British game.

Though I would never underestimate the potential changes that might occur in the name of making more money, I would be surprised if this came to pass in terms of these teams leaving their domestic leagues.

Perhaps what's more likely is them choosing not to compete in the Champions League in favour of this, with the view being that they can get a bigger slice of the pie and also not have the risk of missing out (particularly a problem for English clubs, with Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal all missing out in recent years).

I wouldn't be a fan as it would further close the door to the 'smaller' teams. Leicester smashed the glass ceiling by winning the league and Spurs, whilst not a small club by any measure, still deserve some praise for gate-crashing the Champions League regularly, despite having smaller turnover than their rivals.

I think perhaps it's not been considered that part of the excitement of top European sides playing each other is the rarity of it occurring. If Man Utd were to play Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus etc. every week, it would become pretty mundane after a while.

imagine MAN U MANC ARSENAL LIVERPOOL CHELSEA maybe SPURS leaving the Prem! … 6 champs clubs would go up!
we would be in top 6! and in the new prem in 2022 ….
another thought... would sky pay up as much indeed would the others as well? could lead to prem being short of talent due to new league have first call!!!?? or might go other way … more top players in prem because they cant all play for a team /or 2 or 3 winning stuff! like champions lge etc! they would play for one league title maybe 1 cup title and what else?

Let them go, Sky and the Champions League money has ruined club football. Let them play in their League and let the other 86 professional English clubs get back to something meaningful

I'm with you on that one supcon. Even the TV channels can't keep up with the ever increasing greed and over here we have another new channel that has exclusive coverage of Champions League and EUFA League matches. I paid for a channel that provided those matches, and more, many years ago and now I have to up the ante for another channel to watch those games and my original channel carries rubbish sports in which I have no interest. Slowly but surely I am losing my interest in the beautiful game because the monies being spent and earned are so ridiculous and insulting that it turns my blood.

I was looking forward to watching Liverpool this afternoon but because I won't pay 20 dollars to watch it I guess I will have to direct my eyes elsewhere. Perhaps the cage fighting moose might be a good choice and at least it's free!

You beat me to it Sup, let them go and don’t let them back if it goes Pete tong, tough luck. Hopefully it’ll draw all the prima Donas and leave the rest of us with proper football. It might be good for the National team too , allowing English players to actually get some game time .

Bring it on , the sooner the better.

Once Brexit happens, they wouldn’t be able to travel without visas.
    It would be unworkable.
