The following managers. Not the usual suspect, PDC, O;Nil, Keane and Bruce...but Jimmy Adamson Billy Elliott Ken Knighton Alan Durban Len Ashurst Denis Smith
Adamson - traitor. Left us for Leeds Elliott - underrated. Did well when asked to fill in Knighton - pretty boy who flattered to decieve Durban - should have been given more time Ashurst - brought in because of who he was, not what he could do Smith - poor man's Peter Reid x
Jimmy Adamson, big on discipline would have like to seen him stay longer Billy Elliot Great Dancer Ken Knighton Frustrating watching us when he was boss. We could win 4-0 or just as easy get beat 4-0 Alan Durban, I thought was a great manager, another example of why you should give manager time. He would have been great for us Len Ashurst, Didn't rate the guy, seemed like a nice bloke, loved the club, but wasn't up for this job. Denis Smith. Another manager I have a load of time for, was limited to the lower divisions tho'
agree with a lot of that Durban used to play tennis with a Mag mate and at the time wa telling him that we were 2 players short of top 6 side but Cowie wouldn't splash the cash, he also bought AllY McCoist and predicted he would be a top goalscorer given time, only there wasn't any at our place Smith as quoted would have like to see him trying it higher up in leagues
Adamson was a huge let down jumping ship to Leeds and later, his successor Merrington joined him, it all went sour as both were fired and fell by the wayside. Durban was building a great team, but was not given the time to complete the job, it was a fatal error by Tom Cowie who in truth seemed as though he couldn't wait to get rid of a good manager and struggled to find a replacement, to such an extent that is was the end for him as well.
