SC has says he know what he wants in the window - here where I think we are lacking: 1. Little or no leadership on the pitch - so a leader! 2. Side lacks pace - especially up front - so a pacy forward 3. Someone to run the channels - see point 2! 4. Lack of creativity in midfield (apart from young Bobby) - so a creative midfield player 5. Another defender 6. A natural winger (see point 2 as well) Already a long list, and I can't see 6 players coming in - have I missed anything?
The majority of players that SOD bought in were cheap (thanks Board!) but are simply not good enough. I'm not overly impressed with Flint or Wagstaff, and Pack, despite a promising start is now lacking in confidence Baldock and JET are ok, Cunningham and Moloney (most of the time) are also ok but aside from that we lack a good keeper and I agree we need a proper leader on the pitch. Highlights for me have been Bryan and Reid but we need experience around them and Elliot is a couple of years past his best and needs to go.
Use Wes Burns more, that should make point 6 seem one less. I know he's a forward but he looked a handful out on tend right wing. A Goalie is a must I think, someone old who still has it but will nature Parish.
We need a new Goalkeeper IMO. Fielding a complete let down and Parish won't be better than a number 2 keeper. So im thinking a experienced keeper IMO our defence is fine, could do with getting a back up RB/LB someone who can play in both positions but not a major concern We're missing Adomah like crazy so we need a winger. and finally a Steven Davies replacement. So a GK, Winger and a ST Federici on loan from Reading. All he does is sit on the bench! Havent got a clue about a winger? Prem youngster Varney from Leeds maybe?
A total heart transfer seems to be the order of the day but the wish list on here is very sound. My biggest question would be that isn't this the same transfer market request as for many years? Nobody at board level seems to be feeling the pulse and certainly seem incapable of acting on the obvious.
We don't need creativity, we have more than enough in JET and Reid. Main priority for me is a Keeper and a front runner to play alongside Baldock. What we DON'T need is to play JET up front.
Anybody else watch the Football League show every week and notice who the goal scorers and creators are in our Division? Almost every time it is 'Arsenal loanee X' and 'Man Utd youngster Y'. One team on Saturday in our Division had a cross from one, a header from a 2nd into the path of the 3rd loanee who scored. That is what we don't have. A Caulker or a Danny Rose. They cannot cost that much or teams like Gillingham and Tranmere wouldn't have them. So why don't we? They should be gagging to come to us for the extra special coaching we can give in our Academy. We just don't seem to be getting the Patrick Bamfords. I do hope SC will use his many connections in the game to get us at least one or two useful lads - a quick forward who knows where the goal is would be a good start.
Yes we have had some pretty decent loanees from top clubs but perhaps we disappeared from the radar after our relegation.
Angelic...you have forgotten Derrick Williams, signed by SOD & having a very good season, was superb at Notts County!
What we need is for Osbourne to sign a perm deal, Someone to replace Elliot not good enough, Kelly to come back and hitting the ground running...... Another right back incase Osbourne has to cover the middle Another goalie to cover......... The rest work hard and can't be bettered with position were in......
A keeper, a striker and a couple of hard barstewards in midfield....a Tommy Doc kind of player to scare the crap out of the other team AND HIS team!
we took players from other clubs that were shining because although, the teams in general they came from were not that good, showed promise and stuck out also had experience around them..Flint and co etc part of the 5 pillars? scenario, but SOD was not allowed to keep progressing and we didn't have the expieience left to cope with so many youngsters. COTTER PIN is a different kettle of fish, we are sacrificing points because he does not know the players and I do not care what anybody thinks IT TAKES A HALF A DOZEN GAMES TO get your feet under the table. I reckon our previous style of play would have gained us at least 5 points more since SOD left..2 against NOTTS FOR A START our possession was S H ** E WE NEED CONFIDENCEand a proper stratedgy, that's all Merry Christmas
I have just had a tooth out, now Ive got toothache...how does that work! before it was just a loose tooth.... ps selco still open!
