I know it's kind of got forgotten in all the jizzing over messi, Neymar and Suarez, but that goal by Elneny was top drawer last night. It bodes really well for him that he's got a good finish in him as well as some really tidy play.

Been impressed with Elneny from what I've seen of him so far. He does the basic things really well, very unfussy and he keeps the ball moving. I know it's a bit early to tell, but I think Elneny could grow into a really mobile and versatile centre midfield player.

Something we've been missing for quite sometime. Got himself into a good position and put his foot through it, nice. Has shades of Frank Lampard, hope he continues in a similar vain.

He's good. I like him. Industrious, has a good shot but like a lot of this squad he struggles to keep calm.

For me he's not a top class midfielder but he's a good utility squad player.

I think it's a stretch to compare him to Lampard unfortunately (though fortunately he seems much, much nicer). But I have liked his impact as long as he keeps settling and improving as it's early days yet.

The things I like about him is the things that I feel Ramsey should have been providing us - calm on the ball, keeping possession well and a willingness to take a shot.

Elneny seems to keep things ticking over well, distributing the ball and keeping the ball flowing.

I was just commenting on him shooting outside the box and his position sense, which had shades of Lampard to it. Not that he's actually Lampard of course, as both are different players. But it's refreshing to see a player get into a good position and take a shot when it presents itself.

He runs A LOT. In the last game he ran 2km than anyone else on the pitch (a total of 12.5km)..

Nice efficient and tidy game from Elneny today. He also made good use of making space for our attackers when he was in and around the oppo box <ok>

Was was the same cost as Alli... now he really is someone superb and on the cheap. Time will tell how superb Elneny is but again, I don't think it's really fair to judge many players who play under Wenger. Who really knows what they're capable of when they're managed the way they are and asked to play in the 'tactics' that they are.

    What do you mean?

Lot of players have struggled to replicate the form they have shown under Arsene elsewhere,if one this wenger is good at its improving the player that he gets:

So many examples of failures who left arsene and arsenal down the years from Anelka to Fabregas.

If nothing else Arsene make individuals better..Other who left arsene and arsenal have struggled to replicate the form they showed with us,examples down the years from Anelka to Nasri and Fabregas.
Also note how much Giroud,Koscielny and Cazorla have improved under him.

His only problem is keeping the team firing in April and May.

This is almost all so entirely untrue I now think you're just on the wind up.

How is it untrue? I know you like to argue just for the sake of it but surely even you'd have to agree that Fab never consistently replicated his arsenal form at any other club (hence barca shipping him out and him being awful for chelsea this season)
Henry had his best football for us
As did Helb, viera, toure, clichy & sagna.

    There are others as well

'If nothing else'? What does that even mean? What about all the players he hasn't made better or reach their supposed potential and left the club quietly?

Anelka scored 28 goals in 90 apps for us. 7 in 31 for Real. 18 in 36 for PSG. 38 in 84 for City. 23 in 61 for Bolton. 59 in 184 for Chelsea. Looks pretty consistent to me.
Nasri was never consistently top class for us, had only one impressive season. When he plays for City he's not really any more or less effective than he was for us. Simply a good player.
Fabregas scored 42 in 151 for Barca, 10 in 90 for Chelsea. He was consistently great for a few months then tailed off as Spring hit for us. I'd say also pretty consistent. Pivotal to Chelsea winning the league last year. Won the league with Barca. Couldn't do that with us in seven seasons.

The extent that they've improved is subjective. Giroud for example scores no more for us now than he was for Montpellier. Cazorla was already a very good player when we bought him. And he is still very good now. Koscielny - yes there's a player Wenger has made better. Is that something that Wenger can do that no other manager can do though? Most of the top flight managers can list players they've made better.

What we do know is that these players that Wenger has 'improved' have helped the club improve to the point that we can say we've pushed on from finishing 3rd or 4th in the league and getting KO'd in the last 16 of the CL.... to finishing 3rd or 4th in the league and getting KO'd in the CL. Great.
If only that was his only problem.

Yet,Anelka himself states he should have never left Arsenal and regrets the decision to this day.Figures do not show everything,Nasri was adapting to a new country and league in his first season and after that he was consistently in a upward curve,Barcelona bought Cesc after seeing his Arsenal form..if he bettered that form, why did they ship him away?

Arsene Wenger very often get the best of offensive player like no one else can.

Maybe Barcelona let him go because, while very good, he wasn't actually the very best of the best and that's what they go for unlike us?

And your quote above.. Dear lord, surely you're on the windup?<laugh> No one's that biased are they?
