Article says it all https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blog...ritising-of-lucre-over-loyalty-114955707.html Personally I find this more sickening than most things about our game, which is of course led so ably right from the top by FIFA. Anyone know what the position is at Leeds?
I for one am really going off football after decades of looking forward to Leeds games and other big fixtures. With all the over inflated salaries, diving, influx of overseas mercenaries and the widening gap between top premier league teams and the rest, this is the first season where I have started watching other sports more than football. And of course add to this the daily grind that is Leeds, the last 10 to 12 years are now taking their toll. From large scale developments like news of City's £200m academy, to small things like the **** merchandise on offer from Leeds. Screwing the fans like charging for mascots in order to pay the salaries of those cheating and diving ponces is just another example of sheer greed. I admire a lot of people on here who are retaining their passion by going to games or who watch the feeds and comment on the board during the match. I'm really struggling to keep the passion going, Leeds pretty much ruin every frigging weekend and I can be arsed dealing with it now. ...........**** me, I'll probably go to the local to watch the match later, bollocks ****, feck it. But at least give me some Nike or Addidas gear to wear at the gym after Christmas and not that ****e they wear at the moment.
The greed in football started in the 80s when a certain crap club in Manchester started talks with other European clubs to form the G4, which soon became the G8 along with clubs like Barcelona, Bayern, Real, AC Milan etc and the plan was to work together to come up with ideas to maximise their brands ... from this power group the idea for the Champions League was formed, helping to guarantee these clubs constant appearances in the tournament as they would (should?) always be capable of a top three/four finish in their leagues ... the big clubs basically wanted a guaranteed income stream from the Champions League, a joke tournament in name because teams who are not champions in their country have a chance of winning a tournament that was meant to be a competition amongst the respective champions of all leagues across Europe ... UEFA received an ultimatum, sign off on this or a breakaway tournament will be formed, and that was that The same fcuking red club then started a similar approach in England, gathering the bigger clubs together and forcing a breakaway from the Football League, supported by Sky money ... in essence, Sky guaranteed the PL clubs loads of dosh if they started the Prem and gave Sky the TV rights ... the cowards who signed this off? Those muppets at the FA, because the Prem still needed to be part of a governing body within FIFA ... this move started the decline of England on the international stage, as overnight players wages went from sensible to just plain ridiculous, and the FL clubs started to suffer as transfer fees virtually dried up in favour of signing players from the continent ... today far too many clubs don't have proper Academies anymore, ordinary players are signed to fill squads and put on stupid money for doing fcuk all, and pathetic foreign owners are flooding into the English game ... ultimately it has become all about money, and Scum led the way before they were rudely interrupted by the Russian thug at Chelsea ... then the oil money that poured into Man City further shifted the gap, showing everyone that it would now take at least a billion pounds investment to get yourself into a position to challenge for honours ... so here it is - what is the point of the massively over rated Premier League? How much fun can it be watching your club battle for survival or a mid-table finish knowing you will never get close to the top? What does it say about the game when clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton, Spurs and this season Scum actually set out at the start of the season aiming to finish FOURTH? Fcuking disgrace!!! IMHO the rot set in when sky and the premier league made it worthwhile to buy the title. It's no coincidence that in the last 28years of the proper league of the working mans game the scum ****s didn't win it. Then it became about money and they have won it **** knows how many times since.
