8 minutes to, we're down by 14 down. Looks like NZ v France final. So You Think goes down Wallabies go down. Webber goes down. Thank God the Kangaroos had a thumping win the the league.
I agree with that. I think both So You Think and Cirrus Des Aigles got the perfect trips through. The French horse was just the better on the day. To me the two mares, Snow Fairy and Midday, were both a little unlucky. Snow Fairy had to switch late for a run and was finishing well at the line. Midday got squeezed out quite badly early on and was never in the right position afterwards and was again finishing well from the back of the pack.
I wouldn't knock So You Think for that performance. It took breaking the course record to beat him. If the French horse hadn't been in the race it would have been impressive to finish up the season with a course record breaking win. And look at his other races: Beaten neck by Rewilding - fast by 1.76s Beat Workforce ½l - fast by 2.23s Beaten 5¾l by Danedream - fast by 6.01s (race record) Beaten ¾l by Cirrus Des Aigles - fast by 3.48s (course record) Interesting that when beating Snow Fairy ½l it was slow by 1.20s In some years he could well have gone unbeaten, especially had he been ridden to best advantage each time. I think he has proved to be top notch and very consistent.
It might have been a bad sporting weekend for Australia, but at least Australia Day did the business today - this is how to jump fences round Kempton: http://horses.sportinglife.com/Video/Racing/0,27770,465091,00.html
