It will be interesting to hear the thoughts of our Championship rivals now that the takeover has happened. Like it or not but there is a buzz of excitement around Elland Road, and expectations are high that Warnock will be strengthening the squad further in January. Interesting to see a crowd of 25,500 fans turn out, 24 hours after the official takeover. I wonder whether Elland Road will become a fortress again anytime soon? Since monies have been made available to Warnock from our new owners, he has bought in on loan Alan Tate and Jerome Thomas. Since their arrivals Leeds have won 15 points out of a possible 18, beating the likes of Boro, Leicester and Palace. It is probably a bit soon to be talking about the 'P' word, but from where I am standingThe future is bright. The future is White.
Personally trying not to get too excited until after the Forest and Hull games, 4 points plus from them and possible new signings to come and I will be really buzzing.
Easy to get carried away guys, but we're winning ugly at the moment, and could easily have lost most of the games we've won - especially today's match. We were second best.
It is NOT over until the FAT LASS HAS SUNG. if we are winning just now even though we are not playing great attractive football, then you can be rest assured we will soon start a losing run.
Hull have lost Stockdale back to Fulham, and word has it Sunderland are recalling Meyler. It is not gonna be easy for them...
We've won ugly a couple of times, we've won well (against Huddersfield) and we've also lost while playing well against Derby. The recent run isn't luck, it's dogged determination, which is what we'd expect from a battling Warnock side. We're not struggling to get these points as we've done in the past, we're just not flat out rolling over teams like a lot of people expect us to. Some teams play "prettier" football, it does not mean they are better teams. Leicester and Boro both lacked cutting edge and finishing ability in the final third, as did Ipswich. Inability to finish makes the best teams average, look at how much Leicester have fallen recently.
Tell ya what Whitejock, thats how you get promoted, when you can churn out 1- nils, or 2-1 even though you havn't played well.
Go bore somebody else with your negativity. We're not in a position to be concerned at the moment as things are looking bright and we're winning games. End of the day we've two options - I choose to enjoy the good times and feel positive through the bad times. You choose to feel negative through the good times and be "right" when it goes wrong. It's boring.
when I say toss off, I went to scratch my balls and it just happened to be when Becchio scored. Went off all by itself.
Don't think the guy in front of me was all that impressed right enough. Should have kept it in my trousers ...
What do other teams think? Not a great deal to be honest. You'll be there of there abouts come the end of the season but you're still nine points behind us even after your current run of form. On the 29th that might be down to three of up to fifteen. City fans are too busy enjoying some great football with results to match to concern themselves with other teams. What do Leeds fans think about the mighty Hull City sitting in second? **** all I dare say. I wouldn't read too much into Mayler or Stockers departures either.
I say we concentrate on our own form and forget about everyone else. I'm hoping that, for once, we have had our blip in form, and we are now about to go on a very long confidence building winning streak all the way through to May History says that our post Xmas form, over the last 40 years, is always shocking, only having gained more points post Xmas than pre Xmas in 3 or 4 seasons in that whole time. I'm hoping this season is that next elusive one.
You will finish in the play-offs with your new recruitment drive in Jan. Just hope we finish in the top 2 and you beat leicester in the final.
