Please excuse my ignorance, but what exactly do Ferdinand, Hoddle (and Steve Black for that matter) actually do? I don't know a lot about the makeup of a managerial team. I know that when McClaren was with us we were better, so whatever he did was presumably more effective than his replacement (is that Hoddle or Ferdinand). I think McClaren had more impact on the team performance that any of our players. If I am correct, then whoever has taken over from McClaren might be the person who more rightly deserves some of the ire from us fans rather than us constantly slating only Harry, TF or whichever particular player misplaced a pass or two in any given week.

Hoddle is the person in the McClaren position now (or so I believe), brought in to oversee our smooth transition from a 4-5-1 formation for a 3-5-2, he has blended perfectly with the other coaches to the point where we also have no idea what he does.

I thought Ferdinand is meant to be there to develop the youth set up, though the way Harry spoke in his press conference last week it sounds like he's also in charge of transfers.

Who'd have thought we'd want McClaren back when he first got unveiled??

Our squad is actually best suited to 3-5-2 imo.

It's a shame that our many many coaches appeared to cave in to the pressure of player power earlier in the season (if reports are to be believed!) after a couple of hidings and reverted to the 4-4-2 they'd all been playing since school!

Because we have 5 CB's & just one proper FB I'd have to agree.
