After just watching the female world cup highlights on the beeb i was wondering what level of football the girls in the England team would fit into. Obviously not prem but some of them i think technically could cut it in league 1 easily, Thoughts?<party>

Played football with Julie Fleeting a few times before (Scotland captain, all time goalscorer and cap holder I think?), and she could play a fair bit.

Saying that, still not of the ability of guys I know that are only playing junior level in Scotland (equivalent of semi-pro in England).

If you took a team of the 11 best female footballers, then I think they would struggle to make the football league.

There are 1.2 billion people in China, 1 billion in India and there are not 11 good footballers between them, because they don't really play it that much - neither do British women.

    League one or two? :D

A few years back, Brentford beat the England womens team 7 or 8-1 apparently.

You'd need to get down to pub league level before the England ladies' team would have a chance of winning on a consistent basis.

As a team they' struggle past conference level, individually a couple would be good enough for Championship teams maybe.

Also remember they are largely part time, if they were in the men's game they would train more/get better.

Not a chance they could play at any level with men. Just not strong enough. Plus their goalkeepers are absolutely dreadful.

Back to the kitchen, ****ing dishes needing done.

They missed that one in the "big review". Shoud've let a womens team play in the SPL.

More women would have gone to games.
More sponsorship from feminist lesbo groups.
Would have given the male players a kick up the arse to stop being so crap.

They would be the same as Norfolk sunday league to be fair. Not being harsh, but they are just not strong/skilled enough
