1. Everton were there for the taking. Their fans were restless, their confidence wasn't particularly high in the opening half hour, but we failed to properly test Tim Howard. 2. Matt Phillips has become a non entity. Content with wearing Rio Ferdinand's clothes range and contributing nothing on match day. 3. Joey Barton, as good as his spirit is, hasn't got the legs, speed or forward passing ability to be consistent in the top flight anymore. 4. Rob Green cannot kick a football properly, and his footwork is atrocious. McCarthy for the next game. 5. We will go down this season barring a miracle. Being the only team in English professional football to not pick up a single point away from home is a disgrace to the travelling fans. 6. In the 41 PL games Redknapp has managed, we've only won 8. Win percentage of just 19%.
Iv learnt this. It's going to take a f**king miracle for us to win an away game at this rate. Sorry about the negativity, not my usual style of posting but like many on here I just feel frustrated right now.
Barton was poor - lost the ball in midfield for the first - passing was over ambitious, but let's not make him the scapegoat for a generally toothless performance. Interesting how we looked better with OBZ on the field - generally better when we had s go
We took 17 games last time to record a win. This time we have lost eight away on the trot, even Burnley, Leicester and Hull have got points away. Why do we never seem to get it right, that is my question?
Just need a more positive ambitious mindset Unlucky with 2 deflections I like Vargas but maybe he isn't a sole striker
Barton is an egotistical tw*t who can't pass a ball 5 yards. What was he waffling about again this week? Who cares. He thinks he's a good footballer who can play long passes when in reality he can't even make the short ones. Then he gives away a free on the edge of the box and spends the next 3 minutes mouthing off at everyone before the ball's smacked into our net. But he'll continue to be picked because he's Joey Barton and Harry doesn't have the balls to drop him. Henry has been playing far better than him but he drops him instead because its easier. He's not a "name" and won't kick up too much of a fuss. Stan was right about his ability all along. Oh and I think COL has been too regarding Phillips. Anonymous.
Perhaps this crowd didn't like the match outcome and waged a protest against Tony's airline? please log in to view this image A Thai Air Asia flight had to turn back to Bangkok after unruly passengers hurled noodles and hot water at a flight attendant http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/chinese-passengers-pelt-thai-flight-attendant-with-noodles-1.2872679
Making Barton the captain since Clint has been dropped was a big mistake. This is why he plays every game. So this begs the question? Who should've been made captain in Hill's absence? Henry is my answer.
Why the fu ck wasn't Henry playing?! Jeezus, he's the only one with the discipline to hold his position!
Long term i'd go for Caulker TBH but short term Dunne. Dont think we have anyone else in our team with any fight TBH
The only plus is the opposition will get easier in the away games, but it will also get harder in the home games, we're on a knife-edge...
I like Mutch. He got better and better as game went on, he holds the ball up well and has got good vision and a decent touch for through balls around the penalty area. Joey has to go. He's done. Put Mutch in that spot with Fer roaming, Henry behind them and spread the ball around. We need to support Vargas more, he needs people around him to play 1-2 so he can bounce in. Yun looked a bit dodgy. He needs to be fed more confidence, we need him to stick it out there. Same with Isla. But when they don't have anybody in front of them down the line helping them out going forward or back, they're stuck and are exposed. Probably a tactic problem, seeing as we pushed up a bit, but everybody needs to support and defend.
We've been here before, haven't we. And to bring things down even further, take a look at Redknapp's record after Christmas in the last three season - even with Spurs. Sorry.
Exactly. As much as I agreed with playing wide players to give us an outlet and keep their fullbacks in check, not playing Henry was yet another baffling decision from Mr clueless. Oh and the OP is spot on. Right I'm off to work in the freezing cold................wonderful!!
