A cynical block on the half way line, needless and unwise. It was labelled cynical by Andy Townsend as Luiz didn't raise his arm or elbow caught the player with his shoulder. It originally looked like a nothing challenge (although needless) but from another angle it looks highly questionable at best.

Should have been sent-off. Ian Wright was correct in his summary, "cheap shot". He runs across the player with no intention of playing the ball as the lad breaks away and Luiz shoulders him in the face and almost knocks him out. He didn't break his jaw at all.

Pretty disgusting tackle in my book, but Luiz is a bit of a filthy player. He got away with it though, the yellow will protect him.

Fair play to the lad who was injured by it, he came off and didn't complain at all.

If that was a premier league player, he would be rolling around for 5 minutes.

I doubt it's broken his jaw. Reeves got blindsided by Luiz who bodychecked him very late and because of the Bees player's height his jaw conn ected with Luiz's shoulder. Classless, arsehole behaviour from Luiz but I don't think there was any real intention to injure him.

took one for the team to break up play, doubt he meant to hit him in the face.

Being honest, it's a tackle completely off the ball, with obviously aggressive intent. A shoulder barge off the ball is more like an assault than a tackle, as is a kick or a punch. Luiz didn't even look at the ball as it passed him so the only question is whether he meant to do as much damage as he did, or whether it was just an unnecessarily aggressive professional foul.

You were 4-0 up! It wouldn't have mattered if they'd scored.

There should really be little argument that he was being a ****. I hope someone clatters him when he's looking the otherway, we'll see how he and the rest of your players react to that.
