Not the City Team, but the City game !!!

    1. That the old guard, despite suddenly remembering how to play, cannot do 3 matches a week.
    2. That we DESPERATELY need creativity and SPEED in midfield.
    3. That Mikel is not half as bad as made out. Played well.
    4. That our defence, even without JT and Brana, is not too bad. Very well done Cahill and Luiz, Boswinga and (gulp ) Ashley Cole. Oh and Petr Cech.
    5. That Essien is only a shadow of his past. Forget the penalty, one of those crazy things, but that loss of half a yard of pace means he gives the ball away far too often by not getting into the best position.
    6. That Ramires has lost form for the moment, and also gives the ball away.
    7. That Torres is knocked arse over head by all and any sizeable defender, and Drogba has a poor first touch. Lone striker seems the wrong way to play.
8.On a previous thread " Newcastle duo " a lot of fans are clamouring for some youngsters to get a run. Absolutely has to happen.
    9. That we have improved out of sight, and now look like we wan't to win.
    10. We are only a couple of players away from being a whole lot better. We need some BRILLIANCE.

Well done Bosingwa? The guy is fucking pants! Cost us the game along with Essien.

Torres was one of our best player tonight until Di Matteo went loopy and took him off.

We didn't lose because Di Matteo took Torres off FFS, bringing on Drogba was tactically a better move as he defends corners and set pieces and Torres doesn't. We were undone by a soft pen and that alone.

If we were bringing Drogba on to defend why not take that muppet Bosingwa off then?

Not disheartened by this result by any means; its just a case of a bridge too far and at least we're starting to become less dependant on JT which is important for the future development of the team. So what should we be looking at for next season: another forward, creative midfielder and right back; as for the top 4 place - that'll be touch and go, the grass-snake & his machinations haven't does us any favours had he been thrown a month earlier we wouldn't be in the position of playing catchup....ho-hum, upwards & onwards.

definite penalty, we would've gone ape **** if that was us & it wasn't given.
Ashley Cole and Bosingwa were both hopeless and Mikel was non-existent, didn't do much wrong but didn't do much at all. Meireles should never play for us again, the same with Bosingwa. They are embarrassing!

I think it has really said Lampard and Essien should be heading the departures list, and Mikel definitely deserves to stay, as does Kalou. Drogba is well past it, and Torres is always going to be Torres. I agree with everything else. I think Europa league is where we all know we are likely to end up, and I think that will do more good than anything else. It won't disguise the shortcomings of the team like finishing top 4 would, however, that is Premier League, the Champions league is where we may finally get something historical. That is where the old guard will proove priceless.

Oh and seriously, RDM permanent please. No crap with other managers, we need a Chelsea boy.

No not all of them, but that's because I think Robbie realised they can't do it. Sensible decision I think, as Lamps was jelly legged the last 15mins. He also played very well but unsurprisingly ran out of puff, which many younger players would also have done given his schedule. The real point I am trying (badly ) to make is, we need better replacements than we currently have.

Thats correct Drogs. He didn't make any terrible mistakes (the penalty was correct I think ) but the ring piece gave us absolutely nothing all game. That really does up the degree of difficulty, and puts players off their game.

Wasn't me that made the statement, however I also think Kalou deserves to stay. He DOES score important goals, he IS generally a good sub, he has , from the time he was just a lad, had more managers than girl friends I suspect. Would have done anyones head in,let alone a very young african kids. With some stability and genuine backing from the manager I think he could yet become a very good squad member.

Actually I don't think any of them played all 3. I guess it depends if you're including Cech but I don't think he got too tired either way.
