Stewart Donald confirms that he is fully aware of Lee Cattermole’s actions at Hartlepool away in pre-season and has acted accordingly.

    Any ideas??

He was supposedly getting grief from our fans, and was said to have uttered that 'the sooner he was out the better'....

Shame if true, for both him and the fans. He worked hard cut out the silly cards and if he's been here too long and it's gone a bit stale then it's not just down to him. If he does go I hope we part on good terms...

I don't hold that against him too much our fans can be twats sometimes. I totally agree with him, the sooner the better.

Like it or not he's tarred with the same brush as everyone else associated with the old regime.

Not the best way for him to leave but if it spurs him on to leave then so be it.

Don't think the Maggie Byrne agent relationship helps either...

The ‘not leaving a penny behind’ comment irks the most. He’s earned millions whilst we’ve been relegated twice. **** off Lee, you pisshead

Yep - this statement undermines everything that has gone before.
This statement tells me that he is listening to his agent and doing what she is telling him to do in preference to what has gone before

iirc he was heckled by fans saying things like "can't wait until you're out of our club" and instead of arguing he replied that he agreed.

It's a heat of the moment reaction which I don't think is fair to beat him with too much, especially as he'd been getting dogs abuse.

As for the "not leaving a penny" behind comment - he's an arsehole and a leech and can **** off. Shame, I was in the minority of people who didn't mind him.

Yeah a fan shouted **** off out of our club and he had replied the sooner the better.

The thing is, the person that said “not leaving a penny behind” also said that Our new captain wants to leave. And he’s all but categorically stated the opposite! Agents are twats. I was a Cattermole fan and do think his time is up but I have little doubt that the agent is the one pulling those strings

I'm not mad at him for snapping back because he's only human.

On the other hand, if your agent is saying things you don't agree with that are pissing the fan base off, if you actually care about your relationship with the fans you should either sack them or release a statement.

Agents have far too much power and I’d wonder what would happen if a player actually did this. No doubt there’d be court cases and all sorts. Likelihood is that a player has a contract with an agent much like a club with a player! Although I don’t know for certain of course. Honeyman hasn’t said he didn’t want to leave. But his actions have spoken far more than words ever can

Shouldn't honeyman need to do the same then? As she said the same for him?

Or do actions speak louder than words only apply to certain players and not others?

I'm 99% certain that his contract with her will have all kinds of clauses in it to stop him sacking her without having to give her a pay out.

It's a bit different when a young and ambitious player wants to move on to further their career than it is to an old knacker showing no gratitude to a club that has made him a rich man for doing little. The feelings that Honeyman have described since being made captain have said a lot but haven't heard a peep out of Catts.

Bottom line is if Catts wanted to do something to repair his relationship with the fans he could have. Do you think he gives a ****? I don't.

See I can’t work the double standards out. Honeymans agent said he wants to leave. Honeymans actions say anything but. Cattermole agent says similar. Same person. And Cattermole gets it in the neck? To me neither deserve to be treated any differently. I will back them both if they’re at the club. They both have an arsehole for an agent. Undoubtedly they have a contract with that arsehole!
