On the day that Mariappa will hopefully be making his international debut for Jamaica, I thought I'd ask who people think he'll be playing for come the end of the transfer window?

Personally I think it depends on who gets the Liverpool manager's job. Martinez rates him very, very highly, and I genuinely believe that he would consider bringing in Mapps as competition and cover, on the basis that he will almost certainly get a chance and is quite likely to take it.

Otherwise, possibly Swansea, who may loosen the pursestrings a little now that they're into their second season.

I've got a lot of respect for Reading's manager and assistant, but their director of football is that same t0$$pot who was responsible for the Tommy Smith saga. I think they'll be in for him (and I probably should've put them in the poll), but I can't see them meeting our valuation.

Adrian will stay with Watford with a contract extension so we get some money next summer.

Well it's highly unlikely to be Watford. Wigan, Swansea, Reading and Southampton seem like the most likely.

It'll be interesting to see if the mighty York City make a cheeky bid once their promotion is confirmed.

I can't be the only person who has played FM as an obscure Northern Irish club, and during the game's summer put in an offer for Ronaldinho to see what happens?

I think NNW means September this year - not 2023 when Mapps will be ready to drop down to the nether reaches of the footballing pyramid.

Well yes North would be good if York succeeded,I'm probably not in the minority for once, but cant help thinking you're working on Nervous Hope.

I have to admit I am nervous, and "they" could possibly do it. But it's fair to say that York have been a consistent thorn in their side over the last three years.

You'll be alright North, York will surely be very confident after their Trophy win ...but Adrian Mariappyslapping could still see them as a better prospect as they probably have an East Stand

The possibility of him going to Swansea might depend on whether they can make Steven Caulker's loan move from Spurs a permanent one. If Martinez stays at Wigan, I don't think he'll end up there as I think Dave Whelan might advise that they're not to go for a player who has already turned them down at the last minute but if he goes to Liverpool, it's possible. I wouldn't be surprised to see him end up at Fulham. If he does go to Newcastle, he'll be replacing Williamson with Coloccini being captain - be a certain sort of justice there.

He may stay simply because of Doyley's testimonial!

Probably. But even if not, they'll have a new one before we do.
