At this moment in time I think we will finish 3rd - we are going through a bad patch but Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle will have their fair share of bad patches and in the end our superiority will shine through but as we know, 3rd is not good enough for Abramovich, and it shouldn't be enough for us either. This is what Chelsea need to do to win the PL and/or CL Transfers: Out Torres 40mil Anelka 8mil Malouda 10mil Kalou 5mil Mikel free Bosingwa 12mil Transfers: In RVP 60mil - This should be our number one priority. Yes he's had injury problems, but heck, so has Torres. This guy knows how to score in a non too creative team, and unlike at Arsenal we won't be pinning all our goalscoring hopes on him. Marko Marin 20mil Maxi 5mil Gary Cahill 9mil Jordi Alba 9mil Glen Johnson 10mil Other changes: David Luiz should play as a DM Romeu and Mcechran should be given more opportunities If we do all of the above then we will be better than Man City Discuss
Genius Maxi and Johnson for 15mill? You can have them for 50mill plus Sturridge and Mata And are you seriously thinking Torres is now worth 2/3rds of Van P's current market value (which would make Van P worth approximately £8.60). Pull your head out your arse lad. Oh and a little hint...your best chance of doing anything this year is to keep Luiz as far away from the pitch as possible
We won't get persie, theres only one striker i want - CAVANIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII he destroyed man city tonight
Transfers in - Van Der Wiel, Pereira, Moutinho, Hulk,Cavani thats all we need. Out - Drogba, kalou, malouda, essien, mikel, bosingwa
I have a major issue with what you believe are worth while transfers. Out- Drogba - Kalou - Malouda - Mikel - Bosingwa. In- Cavani- De Bruyne (not so keen but will probably happen)- Godin- Mountinho- Rodwell (mainly to build a strong English back bone with Sturridge and McEachran)- Perreira. Lampard needs to accept the bench, as does Terry. I rate Lampard but there are better midfields we can play without him. Cechs career is almost dead so Courtois better be good (I believe he is). Cole will also have good old Patrick van Aanholt and hopefully Perreira. Ivanovic should replace Terry as captain when Terry is dropped.
Forget Van Aanholt varier his ****ing awful, rather have Bertrand his not as fast but his crossings better, his finishings better ( scored good goal for reserves the other day ), his passes are better and faster and his English.
I think you have greatly under-valued the players that you hope to get in. If you go shopping in the January transfer window, sides are going to know that you are desperate, and they will put their prices sky-high. That's how it was last year. Teams are realising that it's cheaper to keep their best players rather than let them go, even for big bucks, because the cost of replacing them will be far higher, in the long run. Therefore, only silly money is likely to prize good players away from their clubs. Also, I have to agree with the Gooner - who the hell is going to pay £40 million for Torres? He's damaged goods. Actually, I highly rate Torres, and I believe that, with the right manager, he would be great once more. He also needs to be played in the right set-up, which isn't how Chelsea are set up at the moment. Either you are going to sell him and make a massive loss, or you are going to stick with him and change your system.
Do you honestly think anyone else other than yourselves is going to be stupid enough to spend mega bucks on Torres, the guy has been out of form for 2 years now, even at Liverpool before you bought him he was well past it. I'd be suprised if you could find a buyer that would pay 15 million for Torres. I think it has got to the stage now, that you have to question wether Torres still has the ability. 2 years is not just a bad run of form, to me he has lost that yard of pace, and sharpness around the box, much like Micheal Owen did at a similar age, and he simply isn't as good as he was, and will never get back to that level. If you are going to sign some players, Cavani, Jagielka, Baines, Modric, and maybe a few others. Not sure Modric would want to join you guys now, particularly as Spurs are a team on the up, and you guys apear to be in big decline. It certainly isn't beyond the realms of possibility that Spurs could be in the top 4 and you guys not, come the end of the season
Chill I'm just assuming. I don't really know how either play. Oh yeah, Alba looks great. Nab him quickly.
Chelsea need to start producing youuthhhhh !!! they need to stop buying all the youg players (lampard, cole etc etc )
Long way to go: Spurs are having their purple patch now, us our dip now, and we are only three points behind them with 20-odd games left. Agree about Torres, but he is worth more than 15m on shirt sales alone
Ah! Some commonsense on this board, at long last! There's talk of us breaching our wage-cap and making Moddy our first £100,000 per week player. If we do that, coupled with the fact that he is now seeing Harry's plans for the squad beginning to unfold, I cannot see either him or any of our stars leaving us for a long time. Every great winning team, the world over, has proven that to stay at the top you need consistency, and to get consistency you need to keep the same squad of players together for many seasons. Spurs have been making their intentions known since the days of Jol, and long gone are the days when we were a selling club, if ever we were one. We mean business, and we are here to stay. When we get our new stadium, we will not only be the biggest club in London, but we will be perennial title challengers. Please, mark my words.
Which is exactly what we've done, and why we are in the process of refreshing the squad. Even Utd dropped to 5th once upon a time in the Prem
