We lost one of our posters yesterday, no names but he asked me to delete his account, I asked why and these are his reasons, Too many wind-ups. Too many Newcastle (don't mind some but there are too many - can't have a thread without the likes of Chappaz putting his oar in). Too many silly rows. Too many meltdowns. Too many cocky kids. Have got fed up with it. Now TBH I am past caring but thought I would share with you, lets look at it... wind ups, not sure I understand that one. Newcastle fans, it is a multi board forum, Newcastle have lost a lot of posters and its derby week. Chappaz, many don't have a problem and is ignoring so hard. Silly rows and melt downs I agree. Cocky kids, not sure how we decide who to ban. To me its simple, cant please all the people all the time but this or any forum will only ever be as good as those who post. Finally, why ask to have account deleted, why not just not log on?
He is entitled to do it so let him, but don't understand his reasoning. I read what I want to and disregard the rest. Personally I find Chappaz worth reading at times - but like it or lump it he will keep coming on. As they say there aint no show without Punch.
I do think there are some idiots on here, basically people making accounts to WUM others up... I also think its becoming less popular with the better people who used to be on BBC 606. Also Chappaz I find is OK sometimes and bearable. He is one of the better ones and I have no problem with him. If he acts like a D**K I just ignore him. However I certainly wouldn't want to cancel the account - like you said just not log on :S. Its not like its a gambling addiction where you ban your self from the Casino (I have friends who have done this). I will never get the point in canceling an account on a football forum :S But SYD don't beat your self up about it...nothing you can do.
I think you hit the nail on the head when you stated 'that you can't please all of the people all of the time'... For the most part I enjoy the cross-board banter, and in my opinion it helps the build up to D Day. There's a very apt Yorkshire saying 'There's nowt as queer as folk', which I find very apt when things like this crop up...
How many Sunderland fans do we have on hear anyway? Most posts seem to be from a handful of regulars. Must admit for what ever reason the football talk seems to have dipped lately, formations, tactics etc. I just go with the flow though. If I didn't enjoy it I'd just stop. Don't see the need for posting people and telling them I'd lost the love. Wierd......
Think that's a bt unfair. If they want the account deleting, they want the account deleting. Not for anyone to pick holes in why.
I got to admit I cant see why people ask for account to be deleted, then again I don't understand people starting a thread to say they are off. What are they after?
If he asked for his account to be deleted I can't see any reason not to name him. Hard to argue your corner against a none named individual. If people have problems on here say it on the board and lets debate it. Doing it this way is just an out for a coward. Like all the other times where unnamed individuals have moaned to the Mods. Me I'm quite open when I have complained to the Mods. Like when I asked for the banning of the Mag posting OTT porn. Time and place for everything. I did laugh at the "Too many cocky kids!" bit mind. Who on earth could they mean?

Its not our board though, were mags banned from the Sunderland BBC606 board, no, so why should they be banned or at least not allowed to post on here. There are not many debates atm as there isnt a lot to debate about, MON has come in and done wonders, who in their right mind would argue against him or the team atm (if we get turned over on Sunday that may change) but atm everyone is basically on the same page, which means no debates. (or none like the Bruce in out, Bruce tactics or lack off). We will always get ppl like cest/big chris etc, its the net, they will always come out of the woodwork and troll, you just have to learn to take them with a pinch of salt (and a glass of chianti). Forums are dieing gernerally, facebook and twitter are taking over, i am on quite a few forums (not football related) and they are all dieing a slow and painful death. And i hate facebook and twitter.
I think there are two easons we have the cross board threads right now, the derby yes but the mags board is dying due to many joining the new forum so they are using us to liven it up. Never asked for us to be nice to anyone, just don't think we should abuse just because they are Newcastle, it baffles me why people don't see the difference.

Depends what you mean. I want a forum where we can debate like adults, where some swearing is allowed. **** off mag **** just isnt on when they havnt even read the post, they are just replying because he is a mag. Well those tactiics were absolutely ****, this is what i would have done. is fine. We can have very good "debates" with swearing, its when it just turns into a name calling fest, and everyone involved HAS to have the last word, so something that could have ended in 4 posts, and doesnt derail the thread, ends up being 60 posts of abuse passed back and forth, thats boring, and gets right on my tits.

I think we have 3-5 mags that post on here, and maybe when their board was going great guns we had probably 10 max. I wouldnt say that was being overrun. We do have posters from here going over there and winding them up as well, its not just a 1 way street, tbh the ones from here are bigger wums than the ones from there, at least the ones from there start debates and conversations, not just come over to WUM the crap out of us.

Thats fine, but the toon board is dead. Like i said, debates great, swearing in the corect context, bring it on, I am fine with that, even if it wasnt a run up to the derby. I havnt got a problem with most of what goes on here, even the BIBs/BOBs debates I thoroughly enjoyed, even though I was in the minority, I still enjoyed the debates, Bring debates on, whatever its about.
Just one question Steve..........................and the rest can answer also, cos i'd like to know honestly........................... Do you prefer the board now......................as a ****ing pg rated love fest............ Or would you like it returned to how it was before..............i know people complained about abuse...swearing etc... But i'd personally like to know.....................
