Any ideas as Leeds utd are clueless , are there any players we can play in strikers role ? Can Leeds loan players now that transfer market has closed ? And if so what players to go for ?

This is our lot until the end of the season. As the transfer window is closed, guess what, we can't sign any players on loan ;) .

The only signings we would be able to make are for players who don't have a contract with any club, and somehow I have a feeling that the chances of finding a 20 goal a season striker from that list would be quite low.

But we cant sign him this season though, he isnt out of contract until 1 July 2023, and we can't buy him because the transfer window is closed. I thought you wanted someone who would be able to play the remaining 14 games this season, in the hope of them being able to score enough goals to keep us up

In addition is he presently on £180k per week, and if a club don't have to pay a transfer fee for him, then he will be expecting an increase in salary, and I don't think the club are in a position to pay that sort of money at present. so I don't see him as a potential target for next season either, even if we manage to stay up.

If you want to sign someone who can play for the remainder of this season, then pick one of these from the link below

£250,000 a week on loan or to pay off his contract for 14 matches is only 3.5 million we spent 35m on a useless striker .

I agree, hence why I said we are stuck with what we have in my first response.

But in my reply I said buy out or loan him to us till end of season and put firmino on 250,000 a week , it will only cost 3.5m instead we have a useless striker who cost 35m who has not scored in 5 appearances as I knew he would not score as his record was 2 goals in 15 matches before we bought him god knows why we bought him , he was unfit never played in premier league and had a record like that, firmino comes on against man utd and scores within a few minuits

But we can't do either as the transfer window is closed. Any attempt to do what you suggest, would probably result in the club being docked points, ensuring we get relegated. He is under contract until 1st July 2023. That would be the earliest date that he would be allowed to join any club, not just ourselves

Put Robles in goal and play Meslier up front. Came close with a header last time out - our only effort on target.

Finally plucked up courage to watch the goal. Another error from Meslier. He either had to come and claim it or stay put (which would have given him a simple catch). Instead he started to go for the cross and stopped so it looped over him (and he’s 6’ 6” ffs). Maybe time to rest him.

I had to go out at the 30 minute mark because my daughter had run out of petrol on the A12 <doh> and got back to see the last half hour so missed the goal. Can’t bring myself to watch it. It’s in the past and that’s where I’m leaving it <whistle>

You wouldn't look out of place in our attacking line up with that kind of form ;)

I agree at least he had the idea of coming in and heading it , just goes to show if Leeds get tall players we can get headers in.
No more midgets only buy 6ft+

Exactly my point we could've done it in the transfer window , but what did we do buy a potential player when we need to score goals now a player in Rutter who's record is 2 goals in 15 matches and cost 35m

Sorry Sniffer I guess I missed the subtlety of your point given that your original post asked

"could we loan players now that the transfer window is closed and if we could who should we go for."

That suggested to me that you were talking about trying to sign players now, who are already contracted to another club ;)

Which is possible providing the player and his club both agree to terminate the contract.

Though technically you're then signing a free agent.

See Sol Bamba and his departure from Leeds (after the window had closed) as an example.
