A couple of weeks into lockdown and it looks like at least another 3 weeks before the Government will consider lifting restrictions. What is it you are missing? What are you glad to be away from? Doesn't have to be that important, as Mrs Grove would tell you it is the little things that count. Here's mine; Things I miss Crappy high street chain coffee - I know it is sh.it but missing it all the same Reading - used to get a lot of reading done on the commute to work (and it's books not the town in Berkshire), not finding the same sort of time working from home Fanny - apart from the occasional jogger or dog walker I am bereft of minge to ogle at Gigs - had a couple postponed that I was really looking forward to Lessons - the guitar had been going well, getting into bad habits without proper guidance Daytime filth - home PC has loads of parental filters so I can't cut and paste anything noncey Gym - still losing weight by watching what I am eating but home exercise isn't cutting it Things I don't miss Other commuters - glad to be away from the inconsiderate, smelly and foul tempered ar*eholes on the trains and tubes Being skint - sat at home all day has saved me a bundle, I'll be able to pay the tax man now Open door policy - glad I am away from every c.unt on the Congo going "have you got a minute" before ignoring the fact that I obviously haven't and barging in with their whinging anyway Beggars & Chuggers - nice to stroll to the local shops without some raggedy Roma holding out a hand or some overly cheerful twat asking if I could stop to discuss world hunger/homelessness/saving pandas etc I couldn't do this working from home malarkey all the time but apparently the bosses think it has been a raving success and will be pushing more of us into WFH drones.
Only have joking I can't facetime a pint and drink it. Remember sat out the front of that boozer in the Sun? Bliss
Aye till all the spastics started complaining about it. https://www.irishnews.com/news/nort...y-service-after-claims-of-law-breach-1907881/
I miss giving my friend who lost her brother today to COVID-19 a really big hug. Phone calls and texts and facetime just don't cut it.
Didn't read it all. But how can you say you have less time to read now you don't have to commute? Just sit bolt upright on a chair with a book in front of you for 30 minutes before and after you "work from home".
Place near me is doing beer if you bring your own container to put in, open 5-7 every evening. Seems reasonable.
