With the 2011 F1 season only 23 days,14 hours and 20 odd minutes left till the cars will race around Austrailia ? So what will you look most forward to ? New rules- The FIA has once again re shuffled the rules this season, the biggest including the moveable rear wing, which will allow drivers to helo in overtaking. Tyres- New rubber this year for the teams as Pirelli rejoin the sport, will this produce better racing ?, with more strategies, Sebastian Vettel has suggested that teams will be making anything up to 4 stops. What can teams do ? What most will be interested to see is will Renault carry on their form last season, What will Mercedes do ?, Will the new teams threaten the midfeild teams ? So is there anything left that i havent mention , do you Agree/Disagree Leave a comment below ?.
I think the tyres will be a big shake up this year, even though I favour the most aggressive drivers, I still can't wait to see how they influence the race
I'm looking forward to all of the things you mentioned Sportydan, but if it had to be one, I would say the tyres. The tyres are one of the most important things next year. The teams have to design their cars to work well with the tyres - and doing this well could result in less pit stops, allow a driver to be more aggressive and possibly result in a better race strategy. I like the fact that drivers who choose to be aggressive in the race will pay dearly in the later laps - it means race craft becomes more important and drivers act more intelligently. I hope that it's doesn't stop drivers being aggressive, but I am looking forward to seeing the effect that it has on the races. Less durable tyres encourages different race strategies - Based on lap times, I think Webber did a race simulation on soft tyres, while Massa did his race sim medium/hard tyres (either that or the Ferrari is epic at tyre management). Good article. Positive Rep and 5 stars from me
I'm looking forward to seeing which teams have made progress from last year, and who is off the pace, and because I'm a geek, I'd love to see all the technical advances. That and close racing, a tight championship and a few upsets would make a perfect season for me.
I'm looking forward to the varied strategies that the tyres should produce, 'slow' and consistent Vs all all nutter speed and many stops.
Tyres. Should be an exciting time with a completely different manufacturer. Like TJR says though the sooner the season gets going, the better!
