Reminiscing about on this day last year... Despite the (undeserved) defeat probably my favourite away game ever. @Archers Road what a ****ing day that was eh?
Must admit I was hoping that might be the first of many such occasions - and now it looks like it could be a once in a lifetime experience. Either way, I'm so glad I went. And Wembley too, what a cracking day out that was, despite the result.
How quickly has that year gone mate? Absolutely bonkers Still need to grab that picture from you if you've got it too You doing Bournemouth away?
If you have a smart phone I can txt you those photos. Or pm me your email address, but 1st I'd need to get them onto my laptop - haven't managed that yet. Won't be doing any aways this side of Xmas - it's hard enough getting days off for home games at the mo. Life's got way busy lately.
Know the feeling mate, life got busy and money tight for me recently too, not bothering with home games. Only considering Bournemouthat the moment, as it's the day after a stag do After Brighton next week and possibly that though probably won't make a game until spring. As for the photos I've got a smartphone but not sure if I get photos by text. Can try if you want n if not I'll text my email address. No rush anyway mate
Gout, now there's a bastard. Had it severely once but the drugs I took to sort it caused issues elsewhere. Specifically my intestines and the drug is called diclofenac. Diclofenac is amazing, got osteoarthritis in the gout toe (big, left foot) caused by years of cricket and squash, and a dodgy right knee. Diclofenac got rid of ALL aches and pains, it's amazing, but caused a ****ing major, serious illness elsewhere. Will never, ever, touch the stuff again and rarely even have ibuprofen. I just put up with the toe pain, **** it. Be careful what you take for gout.
Can you supply any details on the effects mate? Basically I had that stuff a while ago and I have had certain issues and problems . but I was in other stuff too so never tied it to one medication
Never had gout, but I've got arthritis in my knee and it's got quite severe of late. ****ing killing me today. Oh and I've just sacked off Sober October and opened a nice red - purely medicinal
I now have 5 pills to take each night ... they seem to slip down smoothly with a nice glass of Rioja ... uncanny
Think Darren Fletcher. I'm certain the diclofenac caused it. I'm ok at the minute, and I'm also certain it's down to realising the problem and not touching it again.
cheers mate I asked with fletch in mind. But nowhere near as extreme. I've a had a rough few years and IMO it's all stomach related and its nothing to do with IBS and acid reflux, albeit they are symptoms. I put of down to pain killers. And I've had a few strong UN's My old man has had similar for as long as I can remember, 40+ years and he always said it was pain killers etc Can I ask how you are now and how you got there? I really struggle at times, knocks me out virtually. Not been diagnosed with crohns etc they are now testing me for caeliacs, even though I don't believe its that
Currently I'm very well but on the cycle I'm a due one, if that makes sense. I've only ever had three periods of it and the first was after my first ever bout of gout. I didn't think anything about it at the time, was more panicked about what the **** was happening. Second spell had a week in hospital with and the third, and last, lasted over a ****ing year. It's draining man. Looking back, the second and third spell were after periods of diclofenac use for my toe and knee, I had it on repeat prescription ffs, 100% definitely there is a connection. I've been clear over a year a year now so i'm due a flare up. I haven't been near diclo though so hopefully I've found the cause. Hopefully. I have a drip infusion every 8 weeks, Immunosuppressant. Different things work for different people and this seems to be working. Next one is next Friday!
I was on Diclofeniac , but stopped taking it through choice . That **** is so powerful that in some parts of the world they give it to cattle . The cattle die of natural causes , the vultures eat them , the vultures die because of the diclofeniac . No I’m not joking . Disgusting stuff .
I was also warned it can cause heart attacks by an American locum gp. Another good reason to stop. My own gp was giving it out on repeat whenever I asked for it! Dangerous ****.
