Now I'm not a betting man, I haven't been in a betting shop for about 11 yrs, but today on Sky sports news I noticed that the skybet odds on city gaining promotion is currently 11/12, in other words odds on, and of going up as champions they are 7/4 (Less than 2/1). Much as I would love it to be true I think such odds are hugely premature, but then as I said, I'm no punter so I have no idea how these odds stack up against all the other hopeful teams. Is it much of a muchness or are the bookies just covering their arses just in case? and how does it compare with the odds offered on us in August? If it's that now and Malky gets in some fresh legs in Jan and we kick on, you won't be able to get a price on us!! Surely these odds are silly for early December?
not 100% but I think Sparkey got 16/1 before the season kicked off. Don't know if that was for promotion as champions or just promotion though. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/championship/promotion Never been a punter so it's all just numbers to me
Those are very poor odds Snaggs. H is right. I got 16/1 for City finishing as champs and 5/1 for promotion by any route with WH just before the season started. They have shortened considerably since then - down to 8/1 for champs and 2/1 for promo by any route - the two sets of WH current betting are below. http://sports.williamhill.com/bet/en-gb/betting/e/2111452/English-Championship---Promotion.html http://sports.williamhill.com/bet/en-gb/betting/e/2084217/English-Championship---Outright.html
