......Is that when Sneijder comes out and says that he is happy at Inter and wants to stay, people take his word for it. Since he said this there had been no further talk about him moving anywhere.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...esley-Sneijder-Manchester-United-Chelsea.html

However, when Modric says that he does not want to move and is happy at Spurs, he is still linked with a move every day.

My interpretation of what he says about half way through this article -

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ter-City-United-Chelsea-want-Luka-Modric.html

    - in light of his previous comments is that if the offer is good for the club and the Spurs hierarchy receives a bid for him that is completely outrageous - we're talking £40-50 million + here - then he might move, even though he is not actively going to seek to move.

To cut a long story short, I think he will not press for a move, and will only leave if the club decide to sell him - which I firmly believe we won't.

I think we'll keep him for at least another year. If we don't win silverware and/or get Champions League football again next year I think he's far more likely to leave next summer. I still think we could keep him though, and obviously I'd love to do so.

I find it interesting that Bale, who got far more positive press from those outside of Spurs during the season than Modric, is not being linked with moves so often now. Maybe people are just seeing now that it's Modric who really makes our team tick, not Bale (as good as he is)

superpav...what i think is the real reason that Bale is not being touted much to be honest is that...managers are seeing that...he is very reliant on his pace...now i did not say he posesses no trickery....and one major injury and he could lose alot of this pace and end up an average winger....and on top of that he is being targeted every match and blatantly chopped...so therefore this is a recipe for disaster as soon or later i do believe that he is going to get a major injury....and that is not worth paying 40 mill for..so im happy to keep him <ok>

Agree with Dona re Bale. The last half of the season has been an anti climax watching Bale after his heroics that preceeded that period. I also think Harry ought to take part of the responsability for not countering other teams' tactics with nullifying Bale.

I think that is true regarding Bale's occasional one-dimensional approach - sometimes this season you just wished that he would cut inside rather than go to the byline every time - but I do feel that injury hampered the second half of his season, and over time he will come to recognise when to do such things. The fact that people are aware of the threat he presents though means that if he is double (or triple) marked then it opens up space for the likes of Modric and VdV to exploit. So while I don't feel players target him for fouls and try to injure him deliberately (although every time I watch the Charlie Adam tackle in slo-mo it makes me wince) the fact the we are so often perceived to rely on him is to our benefit.

I'd rather lose Bale than Modric every time, and I reckon most on here agree with me even though I think if we can keep Bale and he progresses further in his development with us - this is his first season as a midfielder/winger don't forget - then we could have quite a player on our hands. :D

How would we feel about a £15m - £20m offer + Drogba from Chelsea?

I would hate for us to get a quality striker like Drogba and lose our playmaker.

It would be the opposite but just as bad as when we got hold of Modric and Berbatov and Keane left.

I've seen plenty of stories regarding Sneijder being linked to this and that club, I'm sure there'll be less in total however because he's from a foreign league. Having an internal PL transfer saga will undoubtedly sell more papers.

With regards to Modric, I don't want him to leave but if he wants to go then I'll be happy for him if we get a good price. I would expect a minimum of £40 million for such a quality player however. Players can always be replaced if given a suitable time frame so if he does want to go the best thing to do would be honest and upfront about it now so we have a chance to find a replacement and entertain offers from the big clubs.

If Manchester United were really serious in purchasing him I would have expected them to have entered a bid by now. I think we'll get one year from Bale & him, no Champions league means we'll lose them. Is why I think this season is the most important for a long time, it'll show whether we're intent on winning things or merely being top 10 material. My hunch tells me we won't be ambitious enough and we'll lose them both next year.

    http://www.clubcall.com/international-football/sneijder-could-still-leave-inter-1225492.html

Wesley Sneijder has gone back on earlier comments that he is definitely staying at Inter and has now hinted he could leave this summer.

The 27-year-old was quoted on Friday saying he was more than happy to stay at the San Siro, despite being linked heavily with a move to Manchester United or Chelsea.
However, in a new interview with Gazzetta dello Sport on Sunday, the Dutchman has now indicated his future remains uncertain.
He told the Italian newspaper: "The Inter fans have always treated me very well. They were wonderful and I want to simply thank them.
"Only God will decide where my future lies.
"I can be certain of one thing: if I remain at Inter, then I will give my all to win everything again.
Sneijder is under contract with Inter until June 2015 and it's thought he would cost at least £20million if Inter do decide to let him leave.

Seems Modders isn't the only one constantly being 'quoted'
