In August I prepared myself for a long and arduous season. I was expecting a lot of unhappy Sunday mornings, and a lot of stress and worry, especially at this part of the season. 17th would have been good enough and hopefully the mackems would not give us too much abuse as they moved on to bigger and better things. I was ready for the disappointment and humiliation that we would have to suffer, and just hoped that we would emerge from this season with another Premiership season secured for next year.

WELL THAT DIDN'T BLOODY HAPPEN DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!

This has been one of the most enjoyable seasons for many years. Maybe it is because our expectations were so low and so humble, but even when we have suffered a bad defeat like Bolton away, it has not seemed that bad. When we have had brilliant results, like Villa and West Ham at home, and of course the Mackems games, the enjoyment seems to have been hightened because these results were so unexpected.

I daren't allow myself to get carried away with what will happen next season, as I think that a top 10 finish next year would be an excellent achievement, but I just hope that we manage to hang on to our top players and bring in 3-4 decent new ones.

Maybe life is better without high expectations????

Have to agree with everything really, what made the big wins more enjoyable was because except from West Ham we weren't expected or given a chance in the press to get anything (most of us new Sun'lun were ****e and that we could beat them though!)
As ever we've had ups and downs
but the highs of this season certainly outweigh the lows and we can be very proud of the lads come Sunday afternoon

Well done Newcastle - Roll on a busy/exciting summer <ok>

I think the best way to sum it up!
    Lawro said-
We have not been on the relegation radar all season
Fantastic praise when anyone on here would have settled for 17th

Lawro is a clueless, pathetic excuse for a human being, but credit where credits due, he can look at a Premiership table and see we are no where the relegation zone...

All the lads deserve praise! We've had a fantastic season. Ive looked forward to each and every weekend we've played this year. Being a Newcastle fan, has once again been enjoyable. It was so good to take 4 points off the Mackems after they were claiming "6 points" before the season had even started. Its like normal service being resumed. Sunderland being 2nd best.

And yeh, apart from the Bolton game, the defeats havent felt so bad....where as they used to be so freaking painful. The whole club atmosphere has changed in the last 2 years....the negative vibe has been replaced by oozing confidence. Its onwards and upwards for the Toon, I cant wait to see what next August brings. Roll on 2011/12

Have to agree it has been a comfortable season, never really been anywhere near the relegation scrap. Been frustrated the last couple of weeks cause we havn't picked up a lot of points to get over the finishing line but we got there.
In with a shout for a top 10 finish which would be nice, and had some amazing results over the season (Villa, Both Sunlan matches, both Arsenal matches, West Ham at home). The press havn't picked on us this season and we've been left to get on with things.

    Top Job NUFC <ok>

The Tiote strike and 5-1 dismantle of SAFC are the highlights of a truly memorable season in which I can say, "I am proud to be a Geordie."

It turned out a hell of a lot more pleasant than I was expecting at the start of the season...

To think I was happy with 17th ;)
