I checked again to see that is isnt April Fool's day today - who on earth does this guy think he is?

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31958105

They lost the tie at the Emirates and didn't score enough in Monaco - they lost fair & square yet he wants to now change the rules because Arsenal got knocked out on 'Away goals'. I dont have the stat but I wonder if they ever won on away goals?

Put a sock in it Arsene!

If they had gone through on away goals, he'd be fine with it. FACT.

It might be sour grapes, but I really do hate the rule. Yes it might make things more dramatic, but it's just unfair.

Precisely,. Isnt it funny how managers complain about the rules when it goes against them but we never hear anyone question them when it works in their favour. Well no, it's not really funny but you get my point. They were knocked out after conceding after their 90th minute goal in the first leg. If they'd takaen the 1-2, shut up shop for 5 minutes and moved on to the 2nd leg they'd be through but instead they put in a ****ing stupid injury time performance.

    It's a ****ty rule.

A bit off topic here but I looked at a live commentary that night and the commentators summary was 'Monaco were just too good for Arsenal tonight'.

    They ****ing lost 2-0 <doh>

At least one of them swapped shirts at half time on Tuesday. Talk about playing for the opposition's shirt.

If away goals only counted after extra time that gives the away team in the second leg an advantage as they have 120 minutes to score an away goal compared to 90 for the other team, that to me is more unfair. He knew the rules before it started.

The away goals rule is bullshit - it always was and it always will be.

If they're drawing at full time play another 30, if its still a draw then penalties.

Cue teams playing 11 behind the ball for the away leg, knowing that statistically they're more likely to win at home. That's the kind of entertainment UEFA are looking for. An entire tournament of World cup '98 France v Paraguay matches.

The games moved on - most teams that are going to be successful try and attack anyway, and those that don't will get caught out regardless.

Plus, it works the other way, teams that have a clean sheet at home are happy just to defend for 90 minutes knowing that even if they go 2 down they can just bag a late one to make it 2 all on aggregate (for example) and still go through.

I thought Arsenal were the better team and very nearly pulled it off. Monaco werent as bad as Wenger says and they did a good job on the Gooners - hence they deserve to go through. End of!

It was brilliant seeing the reaction of the pundits to him swapping his shirt.

Would've loved to have seen what Roy Keane thought of it.
