What is it with Poland and England in qualifying groups over the decades? That said, its not exactly a group of death is it? Copacabana beach here we come with 'Harry Rednapps' England?

I'm waiting for San Marino to stop England from qualifying.

About five years ago I'd have said "I'm waiting for San Marino to stop us from qualifying." Funny how that works.

Also the day 'Arry manages England is the day I start eating sour kraut and get Kuntz 11 tattooed between my shoulder blades.

I'd start getting your shopping list prepared then kidda. I reckon old Arry is a shoe in for the England job next summer and in all honesty, I think it would be a top choice.

Best get that bag fitted soon then RA, as your arsehole will be redundant by July 2012. I cant see another credible candidate and the FA WILL go native for the next appointment, after the hugely expensive waste of money that wop- flop Capello has been.

Redknapp will be the peoples choice and mine too. He would at least play some blood and guts football

Capello has won everything in the game and he has been a total disaster for England and a bloody expensive one at that.

England haven't won anything for 45 years either so hiring a trophy winning manager isn't that important. What is important is getting a manager/coach that understands the English mentality and will instill some blood and guts, fire and thunder football back into the England national team. **** this foreign tippy tappy ****e, we are crap at it.

Lets play the game as we know we can, as Spurs did for most of the Champions League campaign. If we are going to go down, lets do it with some panache and good old fashioned football and not with a whimper like we did against the Krauts last year.

England are going to have to go some to get me even interested.

Overpaid, arrogant, complacent, ****ers. That's the players and the FA, BTW.

I'll stick with my club pro tem...

Hi I have always supported Sunderland and England for over 38 years...I will always support Sunderland no matter how bad they get(and it has been very very bad in the past).
I have always thought that supporting my country would be the same. However i find myself unable to have anything to do with the national game, gone has the groundhog day cycle of thinking yes we have got a reasonable team who if they play to their strengths( british type game, speed strength heart and technique at speed) they will go far,but what we get is a bunch of numpties who think they can play the europeans/latins at their own game, slow tippy tappy boring to watch stuff that is alien to the game played on a saturday in england. It is the lack of heart and effort that paul scholes highlighted that i hate, however i can put up with this as i used to still get engulfed with the jingoism, hype generated prior to a big tournament. However now i cannot contiain my indifferance with the national team and this is down to one person, a sort of one man aversion therepy, a rotten apple,a malevolant spirit a golem a blight on the landscape and like a boggart his name shal not be mentioned but you know who i mean .....i cannot watch England with him in the squad and that saddens me as i thought at my age i was better than that.Is this a north east thing as i feel betrayed by this two faced slimeball and i cannot forget his bare faced lies.

Cest, if those arseholes at the F.A. ever bowed to public opinion then Brian Clough would have walked into the England job years ago, and in all probability we would have at least two stars on an England shirt if not three. F.A.Ive **** better than those miscreants.

I wonder if Newcastle are worried about losing Alan Pardew to the top job? :-/ wonder if fat mike would offer one of his trademark 565 year contacts to keep him at castle grey skull.

The other day i watched England u20 vs S Korea u20 and Spain u19 vs Ireland u19 and the team with poorest players technically was England, Billy Knott showed bits and pieces of skill and vision but all round it was shocking. The Irish got thumped in the end by Spain but showed more on the day than England who got a nil nil draw looking tatically spent after 5 minutes. This worries me because it shows that its not just englands first team structure that needs overhauling, and the most worrying thing is Gareth Southgte has been given the job to change it.
