Regardless of the truth of his sexuality his life story plays like a Greek tragedy - Bernardo's boy makes good, becomes professional footballer, scores goal of the seaon gets the big money transfer and then the wheels slowly start to come off with injuries and loss of form making him seek attention through other channels. Who would have thought when they started their careers that John would win the FA cup and go on to be a tv presenter whilst Justin faded away and died alone by his own hand.

Similar in some ways to Herbie Hide - one minute at the top of the world, the next losing a beloved brother and his titles and just melting down. I would like to think nowadays with the support staff that successful atheletes have that we won't hear this kind of story again but the recent history of many sports are littered with the husks of former greats fallin on hard times.

I watched that tv programme, and it's content was completely at odds with the talksport article. Curious.

Anyway, for whatever reason, Justin was indeed a troubled soul and may he rest in peace. He'll long be remembered for THAT goal.

Having listened to the interview... surprise, surprise.... the publicity was overblown.

Mmm, sounds like someone trying to rewrite history and his part in it. He let his brother down and now he wants the world to think what a swell guy he is. And that he isn't homophobic.

No, now I've thought about it more, I'm angrier. He denies his brother twice. He denied him during his life and now he is trying to deny him again after his death. Presumably because having a gay brother does not fit well with his machoman image.

No, I don't believe Justin dated someone from Coronation Street. But I do believe his brother has all the class of Bet Lynch.

Well if Justin wasn't gay that means there aren't and have never been gay footballers? And John of course has never sought publicity! Well that's two myths expelled then.

Justin was never a particularly brilliant footballer, I remember many times when his legs overtook his body while on a run, the miss hit shots, etc.
But he was "of his time" at Norwich, a folk hero and should have been advised to stay put. Who cares whether he was gay or not, who he dated, what clubs he went to, it does not matter one bit in the scheme of things.
But what is crystal clear, HE WAS TWICE THE MAN THAT YOU ARE OR WILL EVER BE JOHN!
