I've never read anything quite like this. Richard Scudamore, chief exec of the premier league, suggests that global audiences are losing interest in the premier league "brand :emoticon-0119-puke:" because Moyes and his boys are not challenging for the title <yikes>

Maybe we should have a ballot between club chairmen and all agree to roll over so that they assume their 'rightful' place at the top of the tree again.

Tough titties, really, you live (or die) by your results over the season, as in any league in any sport, and if Joe Bangladesh / Surinam / Malaysia doesn't like it, then find a new successful team to support. Pah! Stuff and nonsense.
    Bah!

Although I agree with your feelings on this statement Cromer, in a perverse way I do get what he is on about. There is no doubt that Man Utd is a famous worldwide brand and there non challenge possibly does impact on interest in the Far East for example where they are strong. It is like top seeds going out of Wimbledon or Tiger Woods not playing in the Masters.

Cromer...He is right in what he is saying. Teams like Swansea and Norwich and 75% of the rest are insignificant to the rest of the world audience and when teams like Man city,Man utd,Chelsea and a couple of others have a bad season then interest does drop significantly, Man united generate the most interest of all the rest of the premiership put together and when they are not doing well the TV audience dont do well...Teams like ours will never attract a global audience like man utd does...

Yes but global branding is even less of an excuse for really poor performance
