Well, one thing we can all agree on is we are in a right mess this season.

After recent performances the board was pretty much left with no alternative but to axe Mcinnes, The timing couldn't be worse but what could they do, the situation had become untenable after yesterdays performance and yes I do blame certain players! if your hatred of Mckinnes allows your mindset to forgive certain players for allowing our club to drop to this mess in order for those individuals to get their own way, I feel sorry for you. I wont be forgiving them any time soon, thats a fact.

There isn't a manager available out there that fills me with any sort of inspiration and those stating names like Dimatteo need to wake up and start smelling some roses. (from European cup win to Bristol City <doh>)

    yeah right.

Press conference on monday at 10am..

This has Louis Carey till the end of the season written all over it!

aimed at me <laugh> Just like to state that I would like di matteo not that we should go and get him. I would like SAF and pep to doesn't mean I think we'll get them. The news conference will just be the reasoning for McInnes being sacked. Whats happening regarding transfers and training and when we expect to see a new manager. Can't see them appointing Carey.

i feel if we don't land SOD (which we won't) we are in the brown stuff.. we'll probably appoint tony docherty till the end of the season or louis carey with scott murray as assistant.. shambles of a football club.

Poor timing from the board.. should of been done 2 months earlier..Feel like we might have to take relegation on the chin and build in league 1.

Spot on Lan, The clubs saying what we want to hear about trying to stay up, But seriously 10 wins out of 20??? never ever going to happen. We'll do well to finish top of the relegation spots. People need to open there eyes if they think we're good enough. Sheff wed remind me of us last year and I think they'll be the lucky ones to stay up. league 1 is a very poor league now they've got rid of the like of, Norwhich, Leicester, Southampton, Leeds etc so if we go down, Not to sound big headed, We will be a big club and if the right manager is in and we keep hold of key players we will no doubt finish top 3. Rebuild in league 1 sounds most likely

Sorry for you guys. You (your board?) seem to have dug a hole for yourselves that will need something a bit special pulled out the bag. Boards get criticised enough for the premature sacking of managers, but inaction can be equally as bad.

The old adage is when you find yourself in a hole, stop digging. The season is well past half way and it'll take something to turn this around - but it is by no means over.

Ipswich who took us all the way yesterday and got a draw at our place are an example. They acted earlier and parted with Jewell in favour of McCarthy and he's edging them away from the danger zone in just 10 games.

It can be done but those teams around you down there are not going to give up, and will be punching away. You need someone strongwilled like McCarthy to sort it out for you. The time for quiet diplomacy has run out.

League 1 is a hard league to get out of, ask huddersfield and sheffield UTD fans.. but if we do get our appointment right ie maybe paul tisdale we'll be in with a shout

I agree lan it can be hard, But like I said if we keep key players. Cunningham, Baldock, Davies build around them then it might well be achievable.

It wasn't aimed at you shiny, but, yes, you have put his name on a poll?

Its just not realistic mate, whats the point of fantasy polls at this stage?

Half of the names mentioned in threads have no chance of happening, including Warnock, Holloway, Di Canio, (to name just a few) We are an almost certainly relegated poor team with poor players, We have absolutely no appeal to any employed prospective managers whatsoever at the moment, The one thing no one can dispute about Mckinnes was his ability to sell this club to prospective players, we don't even have that any more.

Stop and look at where we are now and put yourselves in the boots of a football professional? Would you come here?

    What a mess!

IMO ever growing mistakes made by the board over the last 3 plus years has put us into this mess..Even to the point of sacking a manager right in the middle of the transfer deadline..
Why oh why didn't they boot him months ago as it was there for all to see, Del was way out of his depth right from the beginning.

No matter who comes in, it will be a miracle if we stay up and I won't blame the new manager if that becomes the case.......100% down to the board.

The board must now make sure that the next appointment will be a manager that will build from scratch with approx a 5 year contract to see it through. Someone renowned for this process (A Glen Hoddle type figure).

Please no more cheap options, rash decisions or dodgy Scottish rookies....this HAS to be right. For the sake of the club, the fans and Bristol it self.....

It wasn't that long ago that we all got excited about holding the 2018 world cup here in Bristol........Oh the memories!!

I think you're wrong Banksy........What better platform (if you're a decent manager) to rescue a club (with massive potential) from the point of disaster........

Sorry onefor I just cant see that!

Any new manager has an almost impossible task to keep this lot up. he has very little to choose from in players and a board who are always banging on about tightening purse strings and massive debts and a chairman if I walked by in the street I wouldn't know. (and that includes Jon Lansdown up to yesterday)

We also now have a fanbase who are fed up with false dawns and promises and as such lose faith very quickly!

We will always be able to attract a manager though, of course we will.

The quality just may not be to your exacting standards though....

So here we are in this mess and you only have to look back at Brian Tinnion's reign to see where appointing Louis Carey would take us.
