John Ruddy broke his finger and is out of the Euros. Unfortunate for the lad who has had a great season. But what has gotten me is that he has been replaced by a keeper whose only experience this season has been 24 games playing for Cheltenham

I suppose They were too bone idle to realise that Fraser Forster, a man who has been Celtic's number 1 for the past two years is English. Or maybe its because he plays up north, we all know how the FA selectors get nosebleeds up here. Nothing ever changes

Agreed, its shocking really, surely Forster should make the backup squad at very least, although I think hes good enough to be first team.

 

It would appear at the moment you have to play in England as Forster and Carson would surely be ahead of Butland.

 

What I don't understand is why Ben Foster didn't get a call up. Rob Green ffs.

Couldn't agree more about Foster. I;m not the biggest fan of Scottish football but the standard is surely better than Cheltenham? Amazed this Butland is in the squad. Fair play to him, bet it's a dream come true but surely Foster was a better shout.

I think this might make Forster look at his options in the summer. After joe hart we are really weak in the goal keeper department. If he had I been on loan at a club in england this season surely he would of been at least 3rd choice. a permanent switch to Celtic might not be the answer for him.

We can stand here and call them ****s, but we don't care about England that much either.

 

Forster and fair play too him, Hooper at Celtic should have been considered for the squad. I think both could have a future with England but whilst they're saving/scoring goals against (no disrespect) very average teams they'll struggle to make a impact.

Anyone remember when Steve Bull was picked for England when he was playing in the third division? Scored on his debut against Tunisia if I remember correctly and scored against the Scots. Never know, this guy might be decent. Probably wrong but never know. Forster should have been picked though....beggars belief.
